My DD put Girl Guides as her CCA 1st choice but she was allocated to her 2nd choice Dance instead. We want to appeal but was told the school only accept appeal after 6 mths trial. So unfair, why is she not given a chance to do what she really desire to do - girl guides? Can someone advise if u had same experience, and can I submit appeal immediately instead of waiting till 6 mths later?

Fyi, for my son’s school, we were told that we can appeal only based on medical reason…

Thanks for your info. It is kind of unreasonable if they don't allow appeal. My girl posted to dance and was told that the instructor is very fierce and some could not take it and cried. This kind of environment will kill the interest. Anyway we don't care what the school say and just submit in our appeal and see what is the outcome. If fail we will try again 6 mths later.

Does your dd have dance background? She must have done well during the audition, seems like in every sch, they are very strict abt selection for dance. Is it convenient to mention the sch she's in?

Gold may not be sufficient for some schools, they are going for Gold with honours. Naturally the instructors are strict and want the students to do well, otherwise they are breaking their own rice bowl when renewing the following year contract.

DD is in dance. Although they train very hard but she is enjoying it !
Maybe your dd will also love it and refuse to change 6 months down the road. Why not give it a try first ?

There have been cases whereby a girl auditioned for International Dance but was given Indian Dance because the Indian dance teacher liked her. She didn't even audition for Indian dance. Fortunately the girl grew to like Indian dance.
