Totally agree! It's best they learn now from gentler coaches then be thrown into the water in the army! Anyway, MS quite generous alr... only requires the boys to attain 1 level per yr.skyjuice:

Yes, that is my understanding. My boy has gotten silver, so no problem for him. By the way, I think it's good to learn how to swim as this skill will follow them life long.
Do you mean they have to attain silver in sec 2? My DS only got bronze and I never let him continue to attain silver as he seem to swim quite well already. Moreover, I thought why waste the money.[/quote]I am not too sure about this plan. Let's wait and see what they have to say. -
How I wish there’s more communication between the school and parents! Last year there was a workshop in the beginning of the year on Studywiz or sth. Any workshops for S1 parents so far?

I am so with you on this . I dont see why the school provide lockers just for the kids to put nothing much in it!! Plus we had to pay for the lock. And yes, my boy's bag is just as heavy. Very bad for their growing backs. I thought sometime back there was an article in the papers about MOE frowning on bags that go over a certain weight?silver88:
Just wondering if your DS school bag is super heavy? My DS bag is super heavy even without the lap top. Told him to bring only stuff that are needed but he insisted all are needed. Not sure if the rest of the boys are having the same problem? :x
My DS's Sch bag easily weighs 5 kg at least! No matter how he tried to clear, he said everything else is needed. Lately he seems abit hunched forward. I wonder is it due to having to balance himself. This yr Sch removes the lockers so everything is on his back. Heartache when I see him carry the bag! -

This problem has been troubling me since they are in primary school. However, school doesn't seems to help out much on this issue. Whenever you ask the children what is needed in the bag, they will say all needed ! Guess there is no way we can help the children in this issue ! :x -
Silver88, is your ds in Sec 1 this year? You got to pay for the padlock, not the locker itself. I cant recall the actual price.

Hi Blitz,
Yes, my boy is in sec 1. Thanks for the info. I will ask my boy to check with the teacher how much the padlock cost. -

If I am not mistaken, it is $20+ or $40+. -

Hi,
Happy New Year to all !!
Would like to ask during the CA (24/2 - 28/2), are the kids allow to leave after the CA papers ? or do they have to stay and continue with the class lesson just like in primary school ? same for SA.
Thank you. -

They leave after the exams, except for the last exam day, where lessons continue after that.Hi,
