Hello! My gal is in P3 this year. Can anyone enlightened me on the PAL progarmme? I recall receiving a letter from the school last year that school hours has been extended on Wednesday to incorporate PAL programme. However, I do not see this indicated in the time-table! Did anyone go for the meet the parent session recently? Mayby the school shed some lights on how PAL is carreid out in the school.

        TIA

          Dear Socks,
It was indicated in my gals time table. My P2 gal will do English and PE lesson on Wed afternoon from 1.30 to 3pm. My P4 gal will do English and MT. Suggest you ask your gal to check with her FT. Or you email her FT.
          Regards.

My P4 gal doing MT and Art during 1-3pm on Wed. OLQP is not very clear on the PAL programme and I don't see any change in the time-table.

My DS from Rulang is also doing PAL and he has to go to sch on every thurs morning 10am (he's in the afternoon session). Rulang is very clear in the explanation. According to them, PAL prog is designed to give more time to kids to explore aesthetics and sports curriculum. In order that the kids do not miss out on the academics, they r required to go sch for an extra 2 hrs. So, in Rulang, DS will have normal lessons from 10-12pm, break for lunch at 12pm, then continue lessons as normal at 1pm till recess at 3.30pm. From 4-6.30, they will have pottery lessons for Term 1, sports for Term 2, music for term 3 and outdoor adventures for term 4.

Unfortunately, in OLQP its not so clearly spelt out, it seems like the extra 2 hrs is more an extended in curriculum, no particular emphasis on aesthetics and sports. 😞

              Thanks clueless_mother for your suggestion.

Lock, I have the exact sentiment!!

My DS in Bt Timah Pri has 2 hrs of PAL and its indicated on the time-table. Wherelse, in CHIJ, I only see an extension of curriculum hours. I don't know how they are going to fit the PAL in and so far, no letter from school too about the PAL.

              Very puzzling! :?

                  Hi mommies!

Received letter from teh principal today. Information on PAL is available in the Principal's meet-the-parents slides from the school website.

Basically the extended hours for P3 and 4 are used for FTGP, lunch and STELLAR!!!!! So basically the school increase formal curriculum hours by 1 hour.

For P1 and 2, the hours are for FTGP, lunch and PAL (gymnastic, netball, speech and drama), which our current P3 had without extension in curricular hours for the past 2 years. So there, the school increase curriculum hours by 1 hour too!

                  😛

My gal is in P1 too. May I know the name of this good but hot temper chinese teacher? My gal did complain that one of her chinese teacher very fierce, punish her for not bringing her CME text book. So she bring this text book to sch everyday now. 😞

CME lessons will be reflected in the timetable. shld have taught your daughter to read the timetable so that such incidents will not occur.

anyone aware that recently items are missing from the girls' school bag? Even an ordinary stationary got stolen. My dd asked for a lock for her sch bag :?

The thief actually open their sch bag, an intentional act for stealing.
my dd told me abt it, but never tought it will happend to her.

My dd's bag was opened during choir on 10feb, they were asked to leave their bags outside the music room. During those time she was in choir, sadly the property was left unattended. Once the choir over, she found her bag open and several items are missing. on her way to general ffice to make a report, she found her pencil case and colour pencils scattered on the floor in the porch area. But few other items are not found till now.

on the same occasion, a camera belongs to P1 or P2 (who went on excursion on that day) gone missing too. I knew as I heard the girls reporting too as my dd reporting her case.

I spoke to the disciplinary master if this thing happend often, she said \"no\". But from word of mouth I learn things gone missing even in the classroom.

Remind our girls to be more careful.
