In-law problems?

My wish for all the long-suffering DIL's on this forum that:
- we are as happy-go-lucky as the rabbits;
- we have long ears (I do like your analogy auntieM) to block out the \"not-to-be-heard\" and \"not-to-be-seen\";
- we have the courage and the presence of mind to hop away when the IL's get too much the better of us :roll: ;
- and most importantly, to be able to be \"bo chap\" when they want to pick a fight!
:celebrate: A Blessed and Happy, Healthy and IL-free (or if that is impossible, like in my case, the IL-irritant-free) Year of the Wabbit to all! :celebrate: -

恭喜发财,万事如意.
This year, I’m in-laws free…thus I slept in late and not planning to leave the house until later in the day. Absolutely wonderful & great way to start Year of the Rabbit - peaceful. -

So far I have been quite happy, reunion dinner was pleasant and fuss-free, today lunch at grandma's house has been great, catching up with my cousins and relatives!
The test will come this Saturday when I invite my PILs to come over to our house for lunch. It is going to be steam-boat and yusheng, hope they like it! The stress is in always feeling that I am terribly inadequate and somehow the food I provide is not quite to their liking. But then again, they are always very polite and speak nice words but still....anyway keeping my fingers crossed all will go well, pleasant and drama-free!

Wow, this year's CNY has been simply different and relaxing !!!
We stayed at home until lunch time...went to Mcdonald's for prosperity fillet o' fish, fries and sundae. Went for a car ride, bought yu sheng to bring to mum's place. Went home to take nap until 5. Dinner at grandma's house was great, catching up with my relatives. :celebrate: -

I had a tough time in the early years of my marriage. When the kids came, I somehow found reserves of courage to do what I thought was right sometimes.
10 years ago, I told The Husband that I was perfectly fine if he wished to divorce me in order to marry his Mother. Things have been more manageable since, and very soon we will be moving into the same house, where she will have her own self-sufficient mini apartment space with kitchenette.
When she came over today, she noted that my toilet bowls needed bleaching and my pineapple tarts should be in the fridge. I told her that she needs to only mind her house, not mine. I can manage my household without help. Hopefully, when we move in together, she will remember what I said today or else I'll go mad. -

If I had told mine to mind her own house while I mine my own, there will definitely be a volcano explosion with lots of drama and tears.I had a tough time in the early years of my marriage. When the kids came, I somehow found reserves of courage to do what I thought was right sometimes.
