All About Birthday Parties

I have seen other parents having children's party at the multipurpose hall near my block.
And I do agree that it can be a nice location if you do not mind the openness.
but \"just hosed down our high chair ...\" isn't it NOT GREEN ! -

what do you mean by \"not green\"?
if i brought all the high chairs back to my home, i would hose them down in my bathroom too, right?
(if you are talking about water usage)
if you are talking about the waste on the high chairs falling onto the grass, then erm, those are cake bits, which are organic and biodegradable, so should be ok?
abt the openness, i think it is very nice, cos the kids can ride on their scooters and all, so us parents can relax and chat while keeping an eye on them. better than in a home, where they might climb up and down my boys' bunk bed and jump on my sofa. (which was what happened in last yr's party)
but, this year, it did rain. thankfully, it rained towards the end of the party. must factor in wet-weather plans, for those who don't have water games. for us, the kids dashed out and used their water guns and soaked in the rain, so it wasn't that bad.
i had tents for the kids to change later on, as well as for nursing moms.

normal daily usage not that dirty, i wipe lah...
party time, v v dirty, lots of food bits, so hosing is more effective.

Hi tjm,
Thanks for sharing about your party, sounds lots of fun, interactive and very experiential indeed! May I know what is the size of your party ie. no of guests, adults and children? Those vendors and pinata making tips you gave are very useful, also those bubbles machines and bath tub with water etc. I can imagine the younger kids would love it!
My son is 3+ and I have yet to organize a real party for him. Perhaps when he is older!

thank you, you're most welcome.
there were about 30+ adult guests (not including our own family), about 10 kids aged from 6-10 yrs old, and another 10 aged from 6 months to 5 yrs old.
throwing parties can be tiring especially if you don't hire outside help, but is very memorable.
after all, once the kids reach a certain age they don't need/ want such parties anymore (with balloons and pinata and planned activities). they'd just want to celebrate with friends? so i hope that while it lasts, their birthdays can be fun and we can all look back at the pics and videos and laugh and remember the good times.
