woooo... so glad that I read about the JE Popular Clearance Sale now. It is so tempting to buy story books and assessment books. Think I should drop by later since going over to my mum's place which is around the area.

I decided not to go to Clearance Sale. Will control my buying of assessment books for P2...since there is no CA or SA. For Eng, I'll get a Vocab, Grammar, Comprehension and Composition. Maybe throw in a 'English Weekly'. For Maths, maybe one on Models, Weekly and slightly more challenging one.

      Really scared of assessment books.

        Hi plum cake,

Is the clearance sale still going on at JE MRT ?

        Janet,
The JE Popular Clearance Sale is still on....from 5th Feb to 14th Feb. They have a 5 for $5 promo for English, Chinese & assessment books but not sure if there are any terms & conditions. Check this link out:

        http://www.popular.com.sg/jsp/homepage/html/EN/promo/JEClosure.jsp

Ya, hard to find parking there. Might be easier to take the MRT. That way, you won't be tempted to buy too many assessment books to lug around.. šŸ˜‰

tempting but I have to travell all the way to JE 😢

          Janet Dear,,
your dd is in p1 right. so don't buy anything for P2. new good ones can pop up in november. EPH's weekley for english is also good accoding to popular staff. new 2010/11 revised edition. If you are willing to pay then can consider \"Visible Thinking\". rather than buying unwanted stuff because its cheap.

EPH's Weekly has a new 'image'...hahaha. It's 2-in-1 rather than split into A and B. P1/2 is by Naaz Thaker. Still considering between 'Visible Thinking' or 'Shaping Maths'. Henry Lee has revamped his 'Weekly' too...also 2-in-1.

Go for visible thinking than shaping maths. Visible THinking is good one to do rivision.

I'm getting at most 1 or 2 titles for P2. Without CA or SA, there's no point getting so many. I really pity the kids today, there is no childhood at all, esp with 2x supplementary after school. Thank goodness his school only started the supp this year at P5 or it would have been worse.

I don't think the new books will be on sale too.

                    Ok, will do šŸ˜‰
I start my son on a new Maths assessment book for CA and SA. No other way to revise from Chap 1 otherwise. So far, this method works. So there are 4 different authors for Maths each year.

                      Hi plum-cake,

My hubby was free this morning, so he asked me want to go 'Clearance Sale'. He told me 1/2 hour will do, and I was like, 'huh, you must be kidding ?' Anyway, when we stepped out of the house, son called from school saying his itch was unbearable and had to bring him back. Since itch was recurrent, we decided to bring him to see skin specialist.

On the way home, hubby said he actually thought of going to Courts Clearance Sale. I asked him, 'What ? You were referring to Courts ? I was thinking of Popular at Jurong East !'. Then he replied, 'No wonder you said 1/2 hour not enough'. I was thinking of going to Popular to check out any attractive offers and update here

Most of the books are 5 for $5, that include Ladybird assorted series (arrange nicely), magazines, very little assessment books. Those \"good\" assessment books are normal price (arrange nicely on the shelf).

I bought some Ladybird Favourite Tales series, some EPH assessment books for K2, a Little Einstein book that teaches drawing, a science book that tells where the energy comes from. 10 books for $10. Good buy. šŸ™‚
