All About Parent Volunteers (PV)
-
Hi,
You call the school up and ask for the procedures.
As for RGPS, you do not require to 3 years in advance as PV. You only need to apply 1 1/2 year in advance for PV. -
Does anyone know how many volunteers being accepted respective Pri School? I had asked the school but seem they not going to reveal this information.
Therefore by analysing the current Phase 2B would have a good gauge on the number of accepted PV? -

Phase 2B is not just for volunteers but also clan or church affiliates. But yes, it would be a good gauge of the level of competition posed by this group of parents.Does anyone know how many volunteers being accepted respective Pri School? Phase 2B also include RC members

Just to share a sad news from one of my cousin.
She is hoping to put her daughter at St Hildas. They stayed more than 2 Km away from the school. So doing PV will kinda of enhance her chance.
Just prior to the recent Phase 2B, she has already clocked more than 100hrs + she even pledged to the school that she will do PV till Oct.
However during the registration under 2B, the demand is so overwhelming!!! Imaging so many PV + Church Afflication + Those Grassroots… !!!
In the end, my cousin does not even get the chance to ballot and is already disqualitfied.
Felt so sad and unjusty for her. Sigh…now, have to look for other alternative.
So before you go for any PV, please do your homework to see how high are your chances to get in! -

That is indeed sad. What makes it worse is that this is one of the cases that could not be predicted a year ahead of the event since it is caused by the school reducing its intake by one entire class.Just to share a sad news from one of my cousin.

I'm not sure what makes a school increase or reduce its intake and whether it is pre-planned, but I think it would be most helpful if schools can warn parents taking up the PV schemes of their plans for restructuring in-takes as early as possible. This would help alleviate problems such as these. Maybe we should lobby MOE to enforce this. -

Perhaps Parents would need to take note of Church Afflication + Those Grassroots... !!!! where this would be a Mission Impossible for doing PV.Just to share a sad news from one of my cousin.

hi to all parents who child is born in 2004. : - ) My elder daughter is born in that year too. Based on my info, 2004 birth population is the smallest during the 2002 to 2005. Will it affect the schools quota of intake?
hello ggd,mom2boys:
[quote=\"ggd\"]Hello
I am new here, like to find out from all the experienced parent how to go for PV for my child born 2004. Is it a bit early?
I used to stay in Jurong west with my mom, near Rulang <1km, but shifted to Choa Chu Kang 5 yrs ago. And I have change my address to CCK. Any chance if I can still used my mom address to register my child to rulang, if I am willing to sacrify my time for PV? Anyone know which period of time rulang open for PV registration?
Really appreciate your advise.
my eldest child born in 2004 too..actually i stayed in hougang, but my mom stays taman jurong, i thought of using her address if i decided to register my to rulang too..cos my son used to be under my mom's care till recently when my 2nd boy is born, i brought 2 of them back to hougang cos my mom can't handle caring of 2boys..send my eldest son to childcare while my younger one care by my maid (of 10yrs) with my MIL at home...still deciding bet hougang or jurong..read the comments on pri, rulang produces top student everyyear..
