had a slight change of plans this year, normally the 3rd day gathering will be at my mum's but since mum was not feeling well, all decided to gather at my house.
Mini crisis as my fridge was totally empty. My sis and my cousin suggested ordering KFC and Pizza but the thought of eating that after the 1st 2 days of feasting was totally unappealing. So I went to NTUC early Saturday morning, bought some chicken and mee tai bak. Cooked mee tai bak for lunch and abalone porridge for dinner. After so many meals of big fish, meat and seafood, everyone was mighty happy with simple food.
Even dinner at my friend's ended up being teo chew porridge. Where in the past it will be beer and wine and all sorts of stuff, this days it is simple porridge and we were sipping tea and coffee after dinner instead of beer or wine. And conversation was about lao hua yan affliction. Sure signs of aging. -
