i3mum, Qantas and SQ both having promotion now (Qantas hop city $90? deal sounds good).
Unfortunately no budget air from SG flies to Brisbane Airport.
Brisbane airport another 1 hour drive to Gold Coast. -

Please click http://www.qantas.com.au/travel/airlines/international-flight-specials/global/en?departureAirportCode=SIN to find out more details about the Qantas offer.Hi Penglee,

It may sound far, but the journey from Brisbane Airport to Gold Coast is rather pleasant. One hour's drive is not long.

One advantage of arriving/departing at/from brisbane international airport. There's a big DFO near airport. So if you hv a couple of hours to spare before your flight time, and if u hv your own car, you can drop by the outlet for some last minute shopping. Personally, I can find more stuff to buy in DFO compared to Harbourtown.
Yep, the 1 hour drive from Brisbane airport to GC is rather pleasant - one straight road (highway).
I thought Jetstar or Tiger used to fly Sin - Coolongatta (Gold Coast). Hv they stop flying that route, or my memory failed me

Hi, just like to share this - an alternative for a cheaper but reliable car rental company is http://www.britz.com.au where you can pick your car from Thrifty. However, their operating hour is rather restricted, from 6am-12 midnight only.Hi,
I went with a three year old (all by myself) hubby abandoned me due to some work issuesβ¦.

Hi,
For those who did F & E by yrself, did u apply the VISA on yr own too? If yes, did u apply straight from Aust embassy online? I am looking at this website http://www.australiavisa.sg but not sure if it's reliable. Anyone use them before? TIA! -

there is not even a company name, address or company registration number. And the website is registered to a company with a PO Box in Australia.Hi,

I wouldn't take the risk just to save AUD$5 per visa. Not so much the money but the risk of being rejected at the airport.

what we realised is that processing visas thru tour agenices is cheaper than online. e tour agencies probably hv a linked system in place and you just need to pay them an admin fee. i paid $10 per pax using east asia people's park. i saw e tour agency at shenton hse also displaying $10 for visa application. -

Wah, that's a good deal as we paid ours at S$20 thru Star Travel. If you book online via Aust High Comm, it's A$20 (~S$26).
