Many conduct supp. Classes because every other school or teacher is doing it. I am not against them if the teacher really plans his/her after sch program at least ur child is learning effectively.spunky:
With 2 days of extra suppl lessons this yr, there is lesser time. CA1 is just end of the month. How to revise ??? Noon, son has to take nap or he is too tired to do his school hw...and just getting school hw done is not going to help him do well for CA/SA. Unless I can live with Band 3 results, which I cannot.
I'm no Tiger mama though. If he can score Band 2, I'm happy...Band 1 would be a bonus.
I have seen many teachers in staff room just printing w/s half and hour b4 the after school program starts just to occupy the class.
Check what is going on through ur child's work then decide if it is worth staying back.
U will be surprise ur child might h a more productive time at home doing his own revision w ur supervision.
I did think of taking my son out of one class. Need to check with him seriously what his teacher is doing for Chinese. Need more time to revise Comprehension OE with him. Maybe English as well. Just wondering what are the teachers doing with students during supp lessons.
2 days taken out of the week for these lessons...if take son out, will he be missing out anything ?
As an ex teacher, I really urge u to check on child's work in sch. What I told u abt what teachers do are v real. There are very dedicated ones (god bless them) but few r left as most r too involved w sch projects they r expected to do. then u decide what actions to take.
Teachers r human they get tired too so teaching is affected, but ranking system has made teachin only a small part of performance ranking in sch. -

just checking. any repercussions for not attending ccas. thinking of dropping ccas for my 3 kids as logistics is a problem since I have 1 sec boy. 1primary boy and 1 primary school going girl - all different schoolsshurley197323:
Seem like your kid's school arrange better. For example, my girl can only come back at 5.30pm every Wed & Thur. Free on Tue & Fri.
The only good thing is CCA is not compulsory...how else to do revision every night if he has to attend CCA ? After his supplementary lessons, he reaches at 345pm, take bath and snack. Must sleep and then refuse to get up. Tue and Thur nights are spent on school hw, nothing else
. Time is so precious this year.

CCA in Primary School is not as important compared to Seconary School unless you plan to use CCA to DSA to Sec School.
