Opinions of the Primary School Registration System

If it is a situation of 100% fill up by Phase 2A, I am sure MOE and the school will do something about it. Eg, increase the intake size, like NYPS, it is now 390 per Pri 1, the largest of all primary school in Singapore. But there is a limit to how big a cohort could be to be effective, so the school (any school) will not be able to accept any demand for places. Enrollment will also drop in future for all sorts of reasons and thus school will not build unnecessary classrooms that cater to demand for a season. For all popular schools, none has been filled up by Phase 2A.I am not advocating a registration system based on distance from school. I am asking maybe there a limit set for P2A such that more spaces are open to the general public.
Current sy, there is no limit and effectively P2A can fill up to 100%. School is out of each for the general public (elitist)
As per discussed in the forum, some schools go without PV, reserving P2B for religious connection. I will think to promote inter-religion tolerance, wouldn't a better way be to open up the vacanies to those of a different religion groups instead? These kids could then learn to better appreciate the values of the other religion having been exposed to it from a young age?
For schools run by churches, Phase 2B is for church members and PV, GRL, etc and this is subject to balloting by distance if demand outstrip supply. This is no difference to non-church members / other religions under Phase 2C : equal slots for grab, subject to distance related balloting if demand is more than supply. Non-church members have equal chance -

:? Why do you like to use the word 'elitist'?
it is fashionable among certain people group in singapore to use such term
don't read too much into it
if you read certain forum, you will notice that they have a certain definition of people group whom they call 'the elite' -

It seems that I am not even allowed to express my opinions in my own style. Words are just to convey the ideas yet the words I used are being ‘nit-picked’ at.
‘Some Catholic schools do not accept PVs, reserving the Phase 2B strictly for Catholics’ ---- I learnt about this from the post made by Janet_lee88 much earlier. And no one points out that this is not the case. So, I presume it to be true. -

if you say 'condemn', people take it you mean it and assume you mean going to neighbourhood schools as a 'condemnation'. There are many parents in here with kids in neighbourhood schools.
nobody disallow what you want to say. just be prepared to defend it
mean what you say, and say what you mean -

I must be careful with use of words as people take it at face value. But, personal attack is ok if coming from you????Why did not you enroll your children in your former school without doing PV - because it is not good enough ? producing such a person like you - that is why it is not popular and hence you needed to do PV in a popular school to get your offspring into that popular school ?
