if you read certain forum, you will notice that they have a certain definition of people group whom they call 'the elite'

It seems that I am not even allowed to express my opinions in my own style. Words are just to convey the ideas yet the words I used are being ‘nit-picked’ at.

‘Some Catholic schools do not accept PVs, reserving the Phase 2B strictly for Catholics’ ---- I learnt about this from the post made by Janet_lee88 much earlier. And no one points out that this is not the case. So, I presume it to be true.

style or not, people take at face value what your write, not what you think. this is a public forum. impression formed by words used stay. no different from a work place

if you say 'condemn', people take it you mean it and assume you mean going to neighbourhood schools as a 'condemnation'. There are many parents in here with kids in neighbourhood schools.

nobody disallow what you want to say. just be prepared to defend it

mean what you say, and say what you mean

Why did not you enroll your children in your former school without doing PV - because it is not good enough ? producing such a person like you - that is why it is not popular and hence you needed to do PV in a popular school to get your offspring into that popular school ?

              .
I must be careful with use of words as people take it at face value. But, personal attack is ok if coming from you????

oh ya, speaking about 'abomination'.......... don't quote me out of context

if he absolutely abhorred or detest the PV system, why do it ? and benefited from it ?

it is a insult and being rude to many other PVs who are in the system by calling it abomination. by accusing the system 'opague' without naming example of schools to prove the case is not an attack on the school principals concerned who are allowing PVs ?

personal attack from me ? I only said 'such a person like you'......why must you read it negatively ? I could have mean good....only the school was not good enough for him

please don't put words into my mouth

The whole Pri school registration sy begs review...

1.\tHome-school proximity......Is it logical for children living just next to sch not to secure a place under P2C and for another living at the other end of the island getting in under 2A?
2.\tPV......Seriousy how many PVs are blue collared workers? Do these parents not care for their children education? More likely they are working hard to feed the family, where to find time for PV?
Then wouldn't the playing field for PV ony the professionals?
3.\tPopular schools ................TUR till 2A already so high and 2B filled by kids with professional parents/assoc to clans. Where do this leave the kids with working class parents? Are they just condemn to study in neighbourhood schools? Does popular school then equate to elitist schools?
Actually, when I read the statement in bold, my interpretation of that particular word used was \"resigned.\"

Depending on the context of the content, interpretation can be subjective lah ....

                  My 2 cents 😄

If I may share, when I read it, it gives me the feeling that the difference between \"popular\" and neighbourhood schools are a world apart...........

Exactly…words are open to interpretation. Let’s don’t dwell too much into it but focus our discussion on the issue at hand.

No need to bother so much whether it is gep, elite, sap, popular or neighbourhood schools. At the end, vast majority of high ability ones will end up in local unis.

Unless parents have the means or kids able to win scholarships, otherwise all capable ones shall eventually study together at the unis.
