Pass years papers on math olympiad :

I seen some of the top guys for RIPWMC only around the middle of SMOPS platinum ranking only.

Correct, Dont know why so much difference? My children's cousin is one of examples, and made me surprise, she failed to get DSA of NYGH and RGS! :stupid: Finally her PSLE result was good enough to apply these two schools. 😎

Yes, and I have seen non GEPers doing extremely well for PSLE too... some in fact better than those GEPers... maybe they are late developers? 😉

Yes, and I have seen non GEPers doing extremely well for PSLE too... some in fact better than those GEPers... maybe they are late developers? 😉[/quote]some possible explanations for seemingly lesser performance by GEPpers at PSLE :

            1. After securing DSA offer, slack liao, and hence did not push too hard to max out the scores. Or those who 'hot-housed' to get into GEP but come to P6...'punctured' liao....lost stamina

            2. Under GEP, they are trained differently in more advanced understanding of the subject, hence may not have answered the PSLE questions in the manner SEAB expected it in the marking scheme, hence lost marks. The GEP training is very suited for sec school. In Sec one class, the teachers told the mainstreamers that GEP kids may have lower PSLE score but they would be understanding the subject at a faster pace. Hence the mainstreamers got coaching from the teachers to even out the pace of learning (these are the higher scorer mainstreamers). I think this is one key reason why sometime GEPper score lesser than mainstreamers. They probably only start learning PSLE style of questions after the P6 SA 1 (which is critical for DSA).

            3. Mainstreamers who are able and wish to prove their worth work hard to max the PSLE score....not surprising especially for those who just missed being selected for GEP by the skin of their teeth....the teachers were told who are those just missed GEP selection .....

Found out from my boy that the class has done 2 compreh exercises in the sch. CL teacher did not allow the pupils to bring home to do these compreh exercises as she does not want \"parents' involvement\" 😉

I am worried about the son's CL compre parts also. usually for CA1, he will lost lots of marks here. :stupid: and for this part,临时抱佛脚 is useless.

WOW for P4, there is compo for CA1. I am happy that mine is still P2.

                        Hey Trapwithin,

Btw, my dd said P2 Chinese in CA1 is to be tested until 第五课。
