PM Lee urges more babies in Year of Rabbit

Dear kwk,
Totally agreed!! Low birth rate is actually the result of our government's effect to push our country to be world class. U can't have the best of everything. If want to boost the birth rate, we have to slow down on the economic issue, so that ppl will have more time for other things, single have more time to social, couples have more time to build up their family....janet_lee88:
If employees are not very productive in the office, their bosses blackmark them for further promotions. However if couples already have kids and so busy, most would not think of having any more as they do not have time to look after. Even if they can return home early, the inbox is always so full and emails need equal attention.
As for those who have yet to produce, how can they possibly do so working 12-14 hours a day...the last thing on their mind is making babies. All they want is to have quick dinner, shower and sleep.
may I refer you to the KSP Notti Corner.....
maybe you can draw some inspiration from there

Men work hard to bring home the bacon. It’s because of bringing up his children/family that he needs to work hard. Work will always be there, but the children will grow up. This is something that should always be reminded to the men.
Fathers in the past work very hard to bring home money. When he wants to communicate with his children now, there is no communication bcos they didn’t realize that bonding takes place from young…not like turning on a switch. Now that these men have retired and are at home, they feel left out bcos the children do not know how to communicate with him and relate anything and everything to the mother. -

Oh dear... I am having so much fun but I rather suspect the men reading thus are turning pale green. So... no lah... we girls don't mean half of what we say here.
You married a MAN lar!
Childcare, cooking ok....but why you want to neuter him?? -

Govt can set all sorts of rules but it is up to us to make the change. Some bright spark thinks that by staying longer in the office they will get favourable review, and the next bright spark thinking that they don't want to lose out thus stay later then the 1st one and so on and so forth. And it eventually becomes a norm. MOM already has a guideline for working hours, 44hrs/week. But if people continue to prioritise work/promotion over other stuff, there will never be enough time for anything else
But if the employer doesn’t have this kind of mind set, these \"bright spark\" will not be encouraged to do so. My boss always thinks that those who stay longer after office hour r more committed to work and favors them, these who always goes off on the dot will be deem not as hard working and hence lost out in term of promotions.
I'm always puzzles y the boss don't see those who work late as in-effective as they can't complete their work on time?? If all employers think this way, then who would wants to stay late, or should I say, who will dare to stay late. -

Women are not born to know how to look after babies. So if we can learn how to do that, the MEN should also do the same. After all, men are spared from pregnancy and child birth. -

Shared childcare responsibility between Man and Women = Yes
Deny a Man his legitimate interests (i.e. neuter) = NO
You married a man with all his warts and crazy interests, which I'm sure was part of the charm. Why would you want to turn him into a carbon copy of yourself? -
