Are you still looking for the 2.5litre thermal pot? Shop & Save has the exact same sale today for the same 2.5litre pot that Happy Mama and I bought prior to CNY. Same price at $19.99, under their house Brand, \"No Frills\" Brand.

Make it fast if you don't want to miss it again! šŸ˜‰
      Just chanced upon this .....

Okie. Will go and check it out šŸ˜„

          schweppes:
Okie... managed to cook Beef Stew with my thermal pot over the weekend.

I bought Australian beef cubes (for stew) at Cold Storage.

          1. Marinate it with soya sauce, worchester sauce and red wine. Coat it with plain flour (or all purpose flour to bread kakis... kekekek...) Leave aside for a while

          2. In the stainless steel pot, pour some olive oil and lightly fry chopped garlic and onions.

          3. throw in portebello mushroom (actually, any mushroom also can but I like portebello as it has nice earthy taste).

          4. throw in diced carrots and potatoes. Lightly fry for a while (abt 2-3mins?) and then pour in red whine to give it a nice sizzle.

          5. throw in the marinated beef cubes and let all the ingredients and flavour infuse with each other.

          6. pour in tomato paste/ puree. As I wanted a but more gravy, I used my fave Heinz Grilled Capsicum and Tomato soup as the stew base.

          7. Include basil and rosemary for a more herby taste. Actually can use any herb u want or leave out if u dont fancy

Cook over low flame for abt 30mins. Transfer to thermal pot. Ready to eat for dinner end of the day.

Altho the beef was nice and tender, I wish it was a bit more flavourful. Maybe I compared my beef stew to resturant stews, so of course can't match their standards. But dh and my girls were quite happy with the texture and flavour, and enjoyed the meal.

Also they quite sweet lah. Said that it was the meat's fault (choice of beef cuts) rather than my cooking. haha

Btw, according to Jamie Oliver's version, he used beer instead of red wine. So that may give it an even more bigger kick!! šŸ˜‰
          Ummmmmm, sounds deeeeee-liiiiiiii-cious

Apek has been MIA for a long time already and my fishes are kind of hungry, looking for new targets!

Suggest that you take your time to read through the whole thread to know for yourself what a thermal pot is or if you are lazy, go and do some research on the internet for more info.

Yes, doing a research on the Internet is faster than going through all 37 pages. Who knows another thermal pot might also fly off the shelf after you are done?
