Wow all of you are so good at making soups with the thermal pot. I must learn some tips! The other time I tried herbal soup, the pork ribs wasn't soft enough. Tried red and green bean soup, but DH felt the beans were not soft enough.Happy Mama:

Actually making soup with the thermal pot is very easy. We like our cabbage and pork ribs to be super soft too! I cooked it for half an hour over the fire before transferring to the outer pot. The soup was really sweet and tasty. :celebrate: -

Yes, the trick is cooking it a bit longer over the stove. Good luck in your next attempt. I meant to cook tau suan over the CNY weekend, but did not get down to doing it because the you tiao stalls were still closed. Will probably do it this weekend.
