she will devour one set of 8 in one single night and re-reads them again whenever she has the time. We are members of Science Centre so we get the Science Centre mag delivered. The whole idea is to be interested and read.
So is my daughter. she can forgo food and sleep if necessary whenever she gets a complete set of 8 for that day. Science centre is our faviourite too. Its like those 'nothing-to-do-day', we mostly end up in Science centre.

my son also want me to buy the Horrible histories pack. just check the UK site and seems you are correct, they do ship to SGP and there is a chart for shipping charge. for order price from £10-50, the shipping charge is £22.

I work near Bras basah.. n the bookshops and popular here is really tempting!! i can spend hours there!! I always end up buying activity books and stuff for the boys!! :roll: I think the popular card discount should be higher for parents like us!! we spend too much $$ there!!
You are very blessed, Mrsbongz. I personally like the chinese books selection there. My dd got a few good ones from there. One of her favourites is a series by SAP with a title Learning to be grateful (今天你懂得感激了没?) in which she reads a story, sometimes a few, every night before her devotion time. She calls it my Chinese Quiet Time. Practical me like the way the stories are written cos it helps with her expression in compo writing. I don't remember seeing them at other Popular bookstores.
LOL. I think it's Popular that is very blessed lo.. all of us are spending so much $$ at their outlets!!
But I think it's great that you dd like to read chinese stuff.. i think that's something many parents struggle with... my ds cries everytime i make him read chinese books.. n his idea of quiet time is to sit quietly while Mommy reads!! :x

Mine used to cry when I made her memorise 唐诗 and read all the characters (difficult ones) in a story when she was 4 or 5 years old. IMO, it was not that difficult cos she speaks mandarin since young but I push her to recognise the difficult words because I don't want her to take her \"advantage\" for granted. After she overcame the resentment of reading chinese, she became more motivated and was more acceptable and open to the language. It's really tears and sweat for her but it's worth it. I am doing the same for dd2 who will be turning 5, and she is rather compliant, unlike dd1, so that makes it easier for me to teach her.
However, I am not so pushy now cos dd1 is already older, and coping well. Not the best that I will expect but at least we can have a decent conversation with her in mandarin. I am balancing her chinese revision on a thin line with her busy schedule nowadays, unlike P1/2 when I could ensure she did chinese daily. Somehow, the emphasis has shifted a little in P3 which I am still trying to adjust myself. Thankfully, she has a good foundation so now we just have to sustain her interest and try to maintain her standard by doing quality revision. -

Previously they will only shipped out of Europe if you ordered from the international site. To buy from Europe site, you need an Europe address. So vPost will work for Europe site because you will have a Europe address.
