Since then I add Dettol disinfectant to my regular floor cleaner for floor mopping.

I think I will die quicker too if you add Dettol to my bubble tea :). Remind me to bring my own drink next time if I visit you, Jennifer

Mine too. I've tried using 2 types of ants baits and also Jennifer's dettol method. I've also bought something called 'scent king', comes in a box of 2. The strong herbal smell is supposed to scare away ants, lizards and other insects. Instead, it's my hubby & kids who ran away while the ants are happily crawling over the stuff......I'm fighting a loosing battle against the ants so far.

How's the dettol method? Effective?

I've tried all commercial baits, only managed to keep those ants away for most 2 days and they'll be happily \"walking\" in the house again :x
Weird thing is the ants will crawl up the wall and travel around the house via the wall, not floor, how come like that???

Good news. I noticed the ants population at my house has reduced, though not eliminated. I have left the combat ants bait as it is and it must have taken effect, though very slowly. I shall replace it with another one probably in a month's time. Hopefully with time, I can get rid of all ants. The dettol method does not work for me. Shortly after cleaning the cabinet table top with a diluted dettol solution, I saw ants crawling on it.

It's a white powder and I usually find the ant trail, see where the trail ends/starts and then push the powder in those spots as well as along the trail.

So, it's called Horti Anti Ant Killer. It's a white bottle and usually sold near the garderning area. You can use it for indoor and outdoor ant probs. Good luck!!

Lizards scare me. I scream and run whenever we get a visit. My kids find my reaction very funny

I've resorted to buying a lizard trap (it's a box with a bait on a glue board) and then get my husband or one of my kids to go check on the box regularly. If we \"caught\" any, their job is to throw it away...far away from me.

My wmf pot has brownish stain at the bottom (inside) of the pot.


I bought it recently. Only used it to cook plain porridge twice.

The 1st time was ok. I noticed the brown stain the 2nd time round.

Any idea what causes it? Is it a defect? How to remove?

My wmf pan also the same - though I use it for frying (and I only do light cooking). I did try washing hard but didn’t work. Can’t recall if I ever used melamine (the white ‘magic’ sponge) but if I did, it didn’t work.


If it bothers you, can buy a type of powder (saw before at isetan at the cookware section, think it’s zebra brand) to polish the pot.

Thanks! Check with you, when you touch those brown stains, are they perfectly smooth?

The stains in my pot are smooth like the rest of the pot, so it's not because didn't wash properly. Have been using wmf for years, never had this kind of problem le

Hello everyone


I have some brand new wine glasses, never used before.
However i have kept them for a long long time (almost 8 years) in the deepest darkest corner of my kitchen cabinets, i now realise that there are widespread stains on them such that the glass is no longer clear.

I washed them with Mama Lemon - the glass is clean & safe for use but the stains are still there.
It is unsightly and if i am presented with a glass like this, i’d think that it has not been washed.

The stains are less obvious when the glass is wet, but once dry - the glass stains are obvious again.

What is the cause of these stains?

Any advice how i can remove the stains and get the glass to be clear once again?

Or are they doomed for the trash bin?
