to me, it is what sounds pleasing to the ear. Appropriate accompaniment and pattern depending on the melody.
But to the teacher, it must be what is appropriate for their grade i.e. they must apply what they have learnt so far. -
Thanks aforfamily!
:? hm... i still can't help him choose the songs  Guess I just have to leave it to DS then.
You decided to let your DS continue into SSAC? -
Hi radiantmum,
have not decided yet, will see how things go. -
I can already picture the dilemma - all the best !

Does anyone know whether there will be a JSAC concert this year? How do we get the tickets?
If my child already has his own piano teacher (who’s very good), is there any point in joining the JSAC course? For those of you who have done the JSAC course or who have kids in them, did you still continue with your current music teacher? -
There’s an ensemble concert performed by the jsac n ssac students coming thurs 8 sept 7pm at toa payoh west cc. Free admission. Coming soon is the asia pacific electone festival. Tickets avail in sistic. Once u are in the jsac course, u do not get to select your teacher. Not all yamaha teachers are qualified to teach this course apparently. The teachers are experienced so dont be worried. Generally group class pace is much faster n the kids are exposed to a wide variety of songs n techniques not just exam pcs. Classes twice a wk. Some have additional classes in other musical instruments or minor in electone or piano so i guess its ok to keep ur current teacher if your schedule permits.

Thanks, Radiantmum! Will try to bring my son for the concert tomorrow. Do I need to get a ticket from yahama?

No, free admission. There’s several ccs in toa payoh - note that it’s toa payoh west cc @lorong 2.
