      Hi ctct61t

Good idea! However the rental rate around that area is pretty expensive…

Yah, it's true. But it seems the best way for our DD.

Mine is also P3 and just like Luanee's girl, mine hardly has any homework at all. Even for the Chinese New Year break she didnt had to do any homework and best of all till date, I have been hearing that her maths teacher is always on MC...xian just like her FT for the past 2 years....

Rugrats_pat, that is exactly like my gal's math teacher...maybe one and the same.

          DD1 is in 3H. Yours?

            hi all,

If possible, would like to get some input here on school bus fetching time for morning session.

Can help to let me your estate and what time school bus comes to fetch your girl?

Frankly I find it quite ridiculous that the bus comes at such an early hour but they reach school also at such an early hour. For example, I stay at Sengkang & bus will come around 5.45am, but it’s only a small van. After my girl, the bus will pick up 2 more girls and I know that they will reach school at 6.30am!!

What’s the point of reaching the school so early, unless the bus needs to go for a 2nd round of fetching the workers?

Are we really at the mercy of the school bus people even though we are paying such a high fee? Mine is $220 a month (2-way)…

            Thanks…

              Hi mwchua

I faced the same problem as you. I lived in Chinatown area and the pick up is at 550am. Called the driver and was told that he got to make it to school early in order to avoid the jam. Decided to discontinued as it is too early. The bus fare is $200 per month with no extra trips like staying back for CCA.

I find it very tideous ad now my hubby cant send my DD to school due to some work issues. I wanna get back the bus but was told "no more slots". Tried all my means but till now still cant get any bus to fetch ad send my DD.
I think maybe we should voice out something to SSTA about all these drivers…

I am staying Bukit Merah area, is not so far from school. But my DD's pick up time is 6:00am, she must left home about 5:50 everyday. The school bus arrived to school about 6:35~6:40. It's still dark, all girls are not allow to read books, and not allow to play at playground as well. What my DD does was walking around in Canteen. I tried many times to talk to bus driver, but they need to fetch company works after sending girls to school.

Sometimes, I send her to school by taking bus. We can left home about 6:25 if taking bus, and we can arrive to school about 7:05am, it's still early.

After sending my DD by bus a few times later, I found the traffic jam is really horrible at that time.My school bus fee is 130/month.

Just thinking if the MRT would be a better idea during this time. For now, the nearest is probably Buona Vista (without changing train)?

It's so lucky your DD can have school bus so late, and with cheaper fee...

My DD feel tire just because of getting up too early. She do not have much homework as well.

Luanee’s case is very lucky cause her gal is the last to go up the bus.

For me, we are abt 4 bus stops away. And the bus driver wanted to pick at 6.20am. Cause after that he is going to round Botatic Gdns area to pick 1 more gal.

We took the public bus for day 1 and day 2 out by 6.45am reach by 7.00 am. Now my hubby send her to school out at 6.50 reach by 7.05am
We only take one way home (started this month) prior that, also hubby pick. Quick siong to go up Raffles place up and down.

Actually I believe there are many kids that live in Chinatown, hopefully
3VS can find someone to car pool…
