Hi greenbeen
Many thanks for your support in my suggestion.
I will take the lead to write to the school and I hope more parents will also write in the support this idea.
It will be perfect if this works as i have 2 other DD, one in K1 and the other 2 years now.
thus, may we appeal to all parents with existing, current P1 girls this year + ALL potential future parents who are admitting their daughters from next year 2012 onwards … to write to the school, to help to appeal for this time change ?
Btw will you be writing in as well as you will be register your DD this year?

RE: Raffles Girls' Primary
Hi all
I believe all of you are aware that RGPS will be single session from 2016. I called the school ytd to check if the school hours will be the same as the morning session (got to reach by 7.10am to 7.20am) and I was told that they had not finalised on this.
I am thinking it would be great if the school could start school by 1 hr later from 8.30am so the girls need only to be school by about 8.10am.
Extra hour of sleep for the girls is very impt. Dont know what are your views on this suggestion? Shall we write to the school before they finalised on the time? Cos I am aware that some schools like SCGS operate the same school hours even tough they are single session. -

Hi mwchua

Hi mwchua
I faced the same problem as you. I lived in Chinatown area and the pick up is at 550am. Called the driver and was told that he got to make it to school early in order to avoid the jam. Decided to discontinued as it is too early. The bus fare is $200 per month with no extra trips like staying back for CCA.
I find it very tideous ad now my hubby cant send my DD to school due to some work issues. I wanna get back the bus but was told "no more slots". Tried all my means but till now still cant get any bus to fetch ad send my DD.
I think maybe we should voice out something to SSTA about all these drivers… -

Hi all
MY DD have Maths homework almost everyday for the activity book. Usually 5 to 6 pages and also Chinese activity book. She also got to do the zhi shi hua bao which take her very long to complete. This is a weekly work to be done. Other than that she had English & MT Spelling. Also Science homework if she has Science lessons on that particular day. And sometimes English compo wiritng. I really find it hard for her to cope.
What should I do? She is tired as she wake up so early every day and so much to do. Really have no time for other revision. I am really worried.

No, mine in not Mrs Tan. She also have homework for English & Chinese. She complained to me that she is very tired everyday after doing all the homework. Is this what we will expect from P3 onwards? Also there is few projects going on. I really got no time for her to do other revision now. Am worried she might not be able to catch up. Poo girl !

RE: Raffles Girls' Primary
Hi all P3 parents
My DD is also in P3 this year. I always thought it is better for her in the morning session as have more time to do her revision in the afternoon. But this year, I realised that she had a lot of homework compared to P1 & P2. Mostly on Maths and Chinese. She will spend all her time doing her homework and have no time or too tired for other work. Anyone facing the some problem? -

Hi Luanee
I am not sure about the quote posts as well.
By the way, is Formation teaches how to draw models as well? What do you think of the centre? -

Hi all
Many thanks for all your suggestions. I will continue to see what I can to arrange for the transport.
Btw, my girl is having problems with her Maths espcially with the drawing of models. Sometimes she is able to solve her problems without the models but I know that it is impt that she must know how to draw models. Any suggestions where to have a good enrichment centre for Maths in town? -

Hi ctct61tTaking school bus, they will arrive to school about 6:35~6:40, and my DD will spend over half an hour to chat or be in daze...
I send her to school by bus, she will arrive to school aroud 7:05...It's just on time to catch reporting time....
I had contatced the bus operator and the conclusion is that she is not able to route to my place, guess I am left with no other choice now. Just a advise to all mummies whom dd is taking school bus - do think of a better way to send them before u stop the service. Dont be like me
