I think we dont have enough PV to help in the morning traffic, unlike
      Nanyang... 😎
They stopped asking PVs to direct traffic since 3 years ago.. i didnt have a chance to start my traffic duties that time lol..

Talking about NY, my fren with 2 kids there says it is super stressful there. His kids only has an hour of TV time every week?

I go back to home almost 7:30 everyday. My DD prepare for bed at 8:30+, most of the time fall to sleep before 9:20, she spend a lot of time on talking, shower...
Oh i reach home quite early, about 5:30pm everyday, then my 2 dds will fight to use the laptop.

Ur dd seem to sleep the same amount as mine. Perhaps u can ask her to take a power nap in the afternoons if she really feel so tired?

              Hi all

MY DD have Maths homework almost everyday for the activity book. Usually 5 to 6 pages and also Chinese activity book. She also got to do the zhi shi hua bao which take her very long to complete. This is a weekly work to be done. Other than that she had English & MT Spelling. Also Science homework if she has Science lessons on that particular day. And sometimes English compo wiritng. I really find it hard for her to cope.

What should I do? She is tired as she wake up so early every day and so much to do. Really have no time for other revision. I am really worried. 🙏
Really sound like my dd's class. Maybe they are in the same class.

I used to see bus 20 on our morning drive. It plies upper Thomson and thomson roads. Lady driver. Very experienced. Slow and steady but she always gets ahead.

                yes Luanee,
I will be in Hubby's car to see bus no 20.....
Its a whole family affair, to send the princess to school
                hahahaha.......

I insist my gal to eat something for breakfast.
Most of the time she will eat bread but we give her more variety
or else she will so so xian. Also cook hard boiled egg for her too.

Once we woke up late... so she ate in the car...

Actually I always think that its not good for the girls to wait at the basketball court, i believe there is still some existence of morning dew.

Now I wonder what is the hall for???

I also agree that the school should open the other gate then the girls will drop and cross over using the overhead bridge. THAT will cut the super long queue by half anytime!!

I think we dont have enough PV to help in the morning traffic, unlike

My DD feel tire just because of getting up too early. She do not have much homework as well.

What time does ur dd go to bed every nite? Maybe try to get her to sleep earlier so she wont feel so tired everyday. I start to get my girl ready for bed at 9+. Sometimes when she gets too bored at home in the afternoons she will take a nap.

I go back to home almost 7:30 everyday. My DD prepare for bed at 8:30+, most of the time fall to sleep before 9:20, she spend a lot of time on talking, shower...[/quote]Mine also prepares for bed at 8.30 and in bed by 9. What time she actually falls asleep is a mystery which I like to keep...means it's up to her since my job for the day is done.

She wakes at 6.10am which seems to be enough sleep for her.

My DD get up so earlier every day, not only her but also me, both feel very tired. I'm thinking to rent a house near her school, this maybe better for all of us.

Rental is definitely high near the school. Another way is to find out where the last pickup points are for the buses and try to stay near there. I know Jurong East area is around 6.30am too.

I don't think there is any later pickup time than that outside bukit timah area as they have to reach the school by 6.45am to avoid the jam along dunearn road.

Relocate school to ease traffic woes
MS SYLVIA Tan’s letter (‘Illegal parking causing traffic headache’; Monday) is timely, especially with the realignment of Dunearn Road for the current construction works.

Around 7am, 1.30pm and 6.30pm on each school day, motorists should take note of the massive slowdown between Turf Club Road and Watten Drive due to cars turning into Hillcrest Road to drop off or pick pupils from Raffles Girls’ Primary School (RGPS).

Hillcrest Road is a one-lane two-way road that becomes one-way (inwards from Dunearn Road) from 12.15pm to 1.15pm and 5.45pm to 6.45pm each school day. At these times, the line of cars parked and waiting for RGPS pupils can stretch from RGPS along Hillcrest Road to the first lane of Dunearn Road.

Cars wanting to turn into Hillcrest Road have to do so from the middle lane of Dunearn Road. However, even this is not always possible as cars are often parked and waiting in both lanes of Hillcrest Road. Vehicles behind these cars have to brake abruptly at times.

It is a motorist’s nightmare and an accident waiting to happen.

When the problem is raised with RGPS or the Traffic Police, the situation improves for a few days. However, the slowdowns, traffic congestion and inconsiderations return when the Traffic Police are not there.

I dread to think of the traffic condition when RGPS becomes a single-session school and the pupils arrive and leave at the same time.

For the safety of its pupils and the motorists using Dunearn Road and Hillcrest Road, RGPS should consider relocating to a bigger campus with ample parking space.

                      Monica Khoo (Ms)

Inconsiderate parents to blame for congestion
MOST parents who pick their children from school cannot afford the time spent on public transport, and it is not about pampering the children (‘Illegal parking causing traffic headache’ by Ms Sylvia Tan; Monday).

Traffic jams happen when parents park their cars on the roads regardless of the traffic conditions. This happens near most schools. Parents should move their cars while queueing, and if their children are not at the pick-up point when they reach the place, they will just have to move on.

There are parents who park at the drop-off point at the United Square multistorey carparks around 4.30pm. This causes a traffic jam all the way to Newton Road.

                        Tang Lishan (Ms)
