i’m a resident in the area. I think most residents understand that there is a school in the area and has been putting up with the inconveniences for years. my biggest problem is getting parked in, and parents parking illegally. There was a mom who regularly parks at the stop line of watten rise and watten drive or at road bends. With the heavy traffic, and cars parked along the road, she was just pushing things too far with her selfishness. The TP and NP refused to do anything. How do you think reaidents feel? I can put up with the heavy traffic, it’s part and parcel of living near a school, but spare some thoughts for others. There are plenty of legal parking spots, if parents are willing to walk two extra steps.

Hi cherryblossoms, talk to you NC and let yr NC bring this matter to TP…

I agree with you that the traffic around Watten area is quite bizarre around 1pm. As pple use Watten Rise and Watten area like a place for them to U-turn into Dunearn Road…

Actually the traffic warden from RGPS shld not be standing there to direct the traffic cos it will be seen as the only way to get out of the place is via that watten road…

Totally agreed there are occasion, i seen parent walk out of car go the the boot and take school bag lastly give them a kiss but they didnt relised the queue behind them... oh mine.. i know this is bonding between parent and child .. but .. just a bit too much please look at the queu behind them!!!! ...

I think the school should also think of ways to improve the flow of traffic within the school especially at the drop off area/canteen.

Some kids take their own sweet time to alight from the car... and hence jam up the incoming traffic.

So the school should consider to designate another official drop off point.

the principal of another popular pri school had this STERN reminder to all pri one parents : Do your hugging and kissing at home. Get ready to alight with bag on back - get down and get 'lost' quickly at the drop off zone....sadly that principal had retired ....

                    The school has done this.

I remember receiving memos from the principal before. They advised that children to be seated on the side where they are supposed to alight, have their bags ready and for parents to remain in the car. Goodbye kisses to be given at home.

                    hahah.

I have this friend who stays at /Pasir Ris/Changi area and has been sending the kids to RGPS and ACS(J) and now ACS (I) for the past 7 years…

My friend has been rushing every morning to send the kids to school and make sure that they aren’t late for school and he ended up having heart palpitation problem…and have to take medication…
