        Happy Mama:

Bamboo charcoal powder... Sounds interesting... So how did you create the swirl effect using the BM?

Hmmm.. I'll try my best to explain, hope you understand this.

I took half the batter of the white bread about half hour before the kneading cycle ends then I put in the charcoal powder into the BM for mixing with the other half batter left in the machine. Understand so far? After the charcoal powder has been mixed thoroughly, I put in the plain batter/white bread batter into the charcoal batter to 'swirl', about 5 mins before the kneading cycle ends. Must monitor the kneading process closely lor. πŸ˜„

        Got it! Thanks.

Looks yummy and pro! So this time I guess you would have taken a lot more dough out and left the brown to swirl first, before adding the main bulk of yellow?

Hi maid, can you share the name of this other bread forum? If it's not convenient to post, can PM me? Thanks.

It is not a bread forum. It is a cooking/baking forum that I joined many years ago, but no point introducing you to it now because a lot of us left the forum en-masse due to some unhappiness there and it's as good as a ghost town there now, so no point introducing you to it. Trust me, you are happier here. At least our Chief is a nice man unlike some other forum owners. :stupid:

Yes, for sweet buns you need to use your hand power to knead and to shape and oven to bake and not depend on the machine to help you shape and bake!

Why do you hate using the oven so much? How to call yourself a baker if you hate the oven?

because i don't know how to use an oven... πŸ‘… I don't know when to switch on the upper or lower or both and when to switch on the fan... if i switch on the top and not the bottom heater, then the top get burnt and bottom not baked. but if i on both, the i feel that the orange colour of the coil becomes switched off...

Oh dear, sounds like you don't know your oven. Must go and do homework. Bake more and you will know your oven well enough to confidently use it often.

Nope, this time just dump in the choc chips into the pumpkin batter about 3 minutes before the kneading cycle ends, the choc chips will melt and you'll get the swirling effect. Easy eh?
