Hi, since dd is studying higher chinese ni PHPPS, appreciate if you can recommend me a good chinese private tutor ? I am currently using a tutor that charges $60 per lesson, 1.5 hr, 2x a week, and was told that this is considered very expensive given that she is not a school teacher (but have 13 yrs of experience tutoring students from nanyang, MGS, SCGS).. wonder if this is the market rate ?

I presume the rate is for home 1-1 tuition?

Yes, I am paying for 1-1 home tuition. is that the market rate, any idea ?
cheap cheap

Happy Mama:
We listened in admiration as not once have they scolded their children when they do something wrong. All they do is to tell them patiently where they have gone wrong and the parents were extremely patient and gentle to their kids. They just don't seem to have any temper towards their kids!

yes, that is exactly what I want to say...\"tell them patiently where they have gone wrong\" 😄

Hi, P4 parents,

How many Chinese 造句had your child done so far? I checked mine, only one. But according to yesterday's CA1 letter, 造句(一)and造句(二)will be tested? :?

Mine also only 造句(一). Same class right?

Yes, same class. Don't know other classes? 15 marks for 造句 in CA1 and Ds always lost some marks here. 😢

My point: every child is different. For those who are more emotionally sensitive (like mine), the teacher must be very careful in his/her disciplinary measures. I do not wish my boy to come home one day and tell me he hates MA too.

my DH and I always think that once my boy is happy to go to school every day, did not come back and say he hates the school is good enough. We think this is more important than the marks. of couse, Ds will got scolded for not doing very well for his study. Contradictory :?
Jennifer:

I did mention that the FT keeps a record of pupils who forget to complete and submit their assignments. Now my boy calls up his classmate everyday to check. I find this very stressful for all parties. I also wish he stops doing this but he wants to be 100% sure he has not missed out anything. Hiaz.
Don't be stressed about this. some times, I think they just want to chit chat a while using this as an excuse. As I said earier, my son will received several calls almost everyday from his friends talking about homework and some times talking about games, etc. 😄

My son even received call from friend to ask my son to complete a certain game level online for him. I asked my son why waste your time, but he said he does not mind...

- they make repeated mistakes
- they make many careless mistakes
- dun pay attention or be focused when I am teaching them
