2011 P1 Registration Exercise for 2012 In-Take

Hi all, will be enrolling my DD this year under phases 2A2 (i think). Problem is I will be travelling with my DD and I contacted MOE to advice date of registration and they say will only released in may or june.

P1 registration is generally around early July to late Aug.

Some parents feel that if the child is good, he/she will be able to perform in any school. Well, if that holds, then there will not be a mad rush/desire to move within 1km or do PV to get in.


I personally feel that if I have kids, I will do what I can to put my kid in a good school…of course must coach/groom and not depend entirely on teachers/tutors.

Obviously, there must be a reason why some schools are more popular than the rest. Some principals are very academic driven and gear their HODs/teachers to hit the target.

So all the best to you parents. Try your best but if still unsuccessful to get into the school of choice, register your child’s name on wait list and work hard in the meantime.

I’m a newbie here as I heard can gather many info rgding P1 registration here.
I will be registering this yr for my boy (born in 2005) too. I hve been really troubled as to what exactly do I want? ie to go for a good school or just chose the nearest school?

Altho chosing a good school sound good but I’m worried it may be to stress for my boy cos he’s not really those smart kid & don’t really enjoying studying. So i’m worried it’ll make things worse if he cant catch up w the rest. I heard fr my colic her nephew tho in a neighbourhood sch, do very well as not much stress & score q high in class.

But yet i’m aso worried if put him in a least popular school can he do well aso?

I aso understand distance is very impt too as i aso don wan my boy to travel so far or waste time on travelling. Esp pri sch will hve cca or tuition things like tat?

My choices right now is not really ideal too ; good school is nearby but chances v low. nearest sch is those least popular school.

You may want to check with MOE/the school regarding this...you mentioned daughter will be under Phase 2A2 right ?

Parents may issue a letter of authorisation to their relatives or friends to register their children. The letter of authorisation and the relevant documents required for a particular phase are sufficient for registration purposes. For families who are overseas at the point of registration and cannot produce the originals of the relevant documents, photocopies of these documents together with the written evidence of overseas posting can be produced by the proxy authorised by the families. However, the originals of these documents must be produced for verification by the school before 2 Jan 2011. You may download the Letter of Authorisation (44kb .pdf).

Hi parents,


my mum would like to know which phase my younger sister is under.

She would like to enrol my sister in my ex primary school.

So is she in Phase 2A2 or Phase 2C? Thanks.
