As for shaking hands and showing their faces, that one no need lah.

Oh that, I always missed their handshakes.
I usually only heard from neighbours about those visits after it was over

My main door is always closed...knock and knock also no use...unless like what you mention 'FIRE'. HaHaHa.
Now lift upgrading going on, how to open the door ? Very dirty and dusty...I have to put a piece of cloth at the door to prevent dirt from coming in.

in 2011 budget, but nearly half r one –off.

Of these, only about ¼ r cash payouts .
D rest? Goes to Workfare, Medisave, CPF Special A/C etc -
        essentially stays in d gahmen's coffers n
$ u will likely never see n many don’t benefit directly from anyway.

        I am not moved.
        Yes, too many one-off items.
the Child Dev credit (below 6) does not address e longer term issue of increasing costs of raising children in S'pore....

Might as well not give d $300 - $400 per child if d idea is to
            encourage more babies. Right arnot?
How many tins of formula milk can one buy for $300 - $400?

This is not sufficient n I trust dat d issue of encouraging more births
will be addressed in budget debate in coming week.

              Having a child is LIFE-LONG.
Why are the benefits one-off ?

                  \"U Singaporeans always complain.
                  No give - complain;
give - also complain not enuf!
wait I bring in more FWs, then u know. :x \"

Actually, I think dis is likely to happen after GE
                  ie more inflow of FWs.
d current tighter control is temporary.

I need some help here on the extra contribution into the CDAs from the govt.

My DD#1 does not have the CDA as she was born in 2007, before they implemented the new budget for all child has CDA. Now they are giving the $400 to CDA.

I can just go down to the bank and open the CDA?

according to the official website, they'll post us a letter in june2011 if u qualify for the CDA acct.

u need that letter before u go to the bank to open the CDA acct.

Opening CDA acct just to receive $400 is just too troublesome. Reason being I have all the giro linked to my #2 CDA as my #1 didn’t have one as he was born in 2005. Unless by opening the acct, the $1 to $1 top up applies? Otherwise, I hope can bank both $400 into #2 CDA. With just $400 in a CDA, I can’t link to any payment & most GPs don’t accept CDA. What other one off payment can I use it for?
