P3 Maths question.
x + y = 500
x - y = 300
Find x and y.
How do you explain the whole process of solving this to your P3 dd? -
KSP:
Use Guess & CheckP3 Maths question.
x + y = 500
x - y = 300
Find x and y.
How do you explain the whole process of solving this to your P3 dd? -
KSP:
just add the two equations :P3 Maths question.
x + y = 500
x - y = 300
Find x and y.
How do you explain the whole process of solving this to your P3 dd?
2x = 800
x = 400
y = 100
before they learn model method (even before algebra), they learn to add or subtract the equations -
Use Number Bonds
-
(x+y) + (x-y) = 500+300
2x = 800
x = 400
If x = 400, y = 100
umm… dunno how to explain to kid though. -

I have tried this method but she still blur...... :?
just add the two equations :KSP:

P1 concept = 3=2=5 , 4+1=5
P3 = possibility of x+y=500
i.e 300+200=500 or 400+100=500
x-y=300 so, 400-100=300
so x=400, y-100 -
Funz:
Yes, explaining it to a P3 and make sure she understands is a great challenge.(x+y) + (x-y) = 500+300
2x = 800
x = 400
If x = 400, y = 100

Hope this helps :_ -

I have tried this method but she still blur...... :?[/quote]you add it like the way you do \" 1 + 2 \", stack up the two equations, and the kid can visualise better than a horizontal addition :
just add the two equations :verykiasu2010:
