ummm, parents here are very 'hands-on' and makes me wonder am I simply bo-chap type . Saw ds2 did his arty work over the week-end and completed with great satisfaction, giving me his signature grimmy smile :love:

My boy told me he scolds at least 7 to 8 pupils each week.
Somehow the evil in me wants to write a unkind complaint letter to the sch HOD. -

My child does her art work like a chore. She is not the artsy type anyway.
Same here.
He keeps saying arts lessons are stupid. I ended up telling him to draw stupid looking creatures on the shapes since arts is so to him. It gave him great satisfaction to do so. Hiaz.
I think the prob with him is he thinks he needs to make an exact copy of whatever he is assigned to draw- like a photocopier. When he fails to do so, he gets discouraged n ends up disliking the task. Just like penmanship during P1. It was a hellish period for us then- all the temper flareups and crying. -
I wonder what other Twk (P4) classes besides Twk 8/9 are doing for their art lessons? The teacher is, indeed, having it easy, but the students (and parents) are definitely not.
Jennifer, the PH tr-in-charge for Twk 8/9 during art class is Miss Miao Fong Wan. She brings them to the art studio. You may want to have a word with her. -

sorry I can't help too. I saw my son did his art over the weekend. But I hv no idea what it is about. Something about tessellations (sounds very \"chim\" to me). You know how he prevents the paper from becoming salted vege? just fold into half and chuck into bag. no art folio, nothing. :lol:

I am so sorry. So busy with stuff yesterday. According to her :-
1. Fold paper into half. Cut along the line.
2. Fold one of the sheets (half sheet) until it about the size of ε°δΉ¦. Cut out the rectangle.
3. Cut a shape out of the rectangle.
4. Think and design pattern with the shape. Trace it repeatedly on the other half sheet of paper to make the pattern.
5. Repeat 3 more times with different shapes.
I know this is just too late. :imsorry:

My boy also folds the paper into 1/2. I find the art folio a clumsy bag. -

So did they do batik painting today? I wonder how he teaches them?
I conducted a \"batik painting\" with my P5 class before. We folded serviettes or kitchen napkins as many times as we can. It can also be folded into any odd shapes. Then we dip the different corners of a folded napkin into different diluted poster colours. The corners will absorb the paint to parts of the napkin. Then we leave them to dry. When we opened up the napkin (very gently) and voila!! A beautiful piece of batik art.

Well, he clearly does not like the instructor nor the topic now. Just take it as a training for increasing the thickness of his face. Mr. Chin told the class he wants to see an improvement in the pupils' work at the end of the year.
