        Hi parents,

my mum would like to know which phase my younger sister is under.

She would like to enrol my sister in my ex primary school.

So is she in Phase 2A2 or Phase 2C? Thanks.

Below is from MOE web site as of today:

          Phase 2A2

For a child whose parent or sibling has studied in the school of choice; or whose parent is a staff member of the school of choice.

Suggest you call the school to find out the required documents for the registration.

My hubby is ex-student of Maha Bohdi Primary School (MBPS) and we are staying within 1km from Red Swastika. For MBPS, sure can get in under Phase 2A2 but i still itching for Red Swastika. Applied for PV for Red Swastika last year but was rejected. Base on stats, it seems like there is balloting for Red Swatiska even for those staying within 1km...

Really appreciate if experience mummies and daddies out there could enlighten me on the following :?: :

if i register and get a place at MBPS already, can i still register for Red Swastika under Phase 2C?

How can i not risk giving up her place at MBPS and at the same time try our luck for Red Swastika? I am really relunctant to give up Red Swastika totally coz what if Phase 2C balloting ony for those 1km-2km then i will kill myself leh (since i staying within 1km)..pls let me know how to countervene this tricky situation....

Is the birth rate for yr 2005 low or high? If it's low then less people fight under phase 2C then i stand a chance right?

haiz...my heart still go for Red Swastika (due to close proximity from home)...in any case, parents out there, any comments on these two schools? which is beter?

*more grey hair appearing thinking of my gal's future 😢

Admummy, my cousin will kill to be in your place. She garang tried for MBPS under 2C (within 1km) and failed - her child is now in a neighbourhood school (and I hear they are still going to gun for MBPS for their number 2). Understand that MBPS is a good school and has been so for quite some time.

Regarding your strategy, you can only register her for Red Swas. AFTER you give up your place at MBPS. You can always register at MBPS first and then monitor. On the last day of Phase 2C, in the afternoon, call Red Swas up and understand. If there is going to be balloting in the category you are under, you can then start thinking if its your lucky day. If there is no balloting, you can head straight to withdraw (nonid 2 persons); and then another one run to Red Swas to register.

Note: once withdrawn, you can NEVER get it back. So tread carefully. šŸ™‚

                      Hi Admummy,

My kids are now with MBS and I was a old girl. Given our address, we can choose to try our luck at TNS, but in the end, we decided to go to MBS for peace for mind. Looking at the thread and what parents gone through, I find the P1 registration process highly stressful. Giving up MBS is also a opportunity cost for me. It was like what if I give up MBS and got nothing in the end???? So being the \"coward\", I went for MBS. My 2 older kids are in P4 and P3 this year. Being a old girl, I feel for the school. There is a special bond since the kids are in the same school as I was. We can sing the school song together and some of my era teachers are still there.

I've a K2 that is due to register this year. Again the question came up if we should try to put her nearer to home. But I will take the easy way out and put her under phase 1 of MBS.

On the bright side, MBS might not be near (eg. next block) but it's not that far from your place either. The travelling from bedok to ubi is manageable.

                        hi ,

if u have the choice which would u go for :

                        Under 2A2
                        1) Poi ching
                        2) Gongshang

                        Under 2C
                        1) CHIJ TPY (within 1-2km)
                        2) Kheng Cheng(within 1-2km)

Reason for 2c is bcos caregiver (MIL) is staying in TPY n DH prefer TPY due to conveniences for him.
Any parents hv more infor on kheng cheng wld be greatly appreciated.

                        TIA
                        CT
