Maybe because mine were only 2 books + 1 shrink wrapped 7 titles series, so was processed quicker. My order cleared China's custom on 24 Dec.I ordered quite a lot of books i think... hmm.. how come you received but I din.
Yes, they have provided me with the tracking number and I have checked the beijing post office. The item was shipped out on the 31 dec 2010... can't be take so long to reach singapore also... don't make sense.
Wonder what had happened.. and DD is also not helping...
Did you check with Singpost's website under Registered Article Status? If there's no information for your tracking number, then it's either not in Singapore yet or it has not cleared custom. When it reach Singapore, it will still need to be processed by Singapore's custom.
DD has very standard answers whenever I check my order with them. But it's all worth it when I rec my books

Hi
Has anyone redeem their credit points on DD before? Is there anything to take note? Thanks -
Finally I received my DD books this afternoon after more than 11weeks’ long wait. Am so happy! It was delivered in a big "guni". Books are in good condition and cheap!

SAHM_TAN, nz,
I am happy to hear that you have received your books
I will be very disappointed with dangdang if I cannot buy books from them. -
nz,
Happy that you rec yours too :celebrate:
After 11-12 wks of waiting, I've finally rec all my books from DD and even my xi yang yang DVD set. The DVD set was still shrink wrapped, so custom let it pass without checking. Anyway it's only cartoons, nothing exciting to see also.
I was grinning like a Cheshire cat when the postman came this evening. I had both Singpost and China Post mail bags :rotflmao:
Next time must not order too many books at one go. Only one book has the cover slightly torn, the rest are in good condition.
I saw on one of the cards that the Singapore surface delivery mode was used, so it can take very long. -
tamarind:
While waiting for my books from dangdang which is taking forever (no, it's not 8 weeks yet, so I am still waiting patiently), I saw this post from tamarind and decided to give 65daigou a try.
Other alternatives would be to order through sprees in the singaporemotherhood.com, or http://www.65daigou.com. I have never ordered from them before, not sure whether they are reliable or not.
2 things I want to test out.
1. The delivery time
2. The delivery cost
In the end, I want to see if it is worth it. If I end us paying slightly more but a much faster delivery, I may just go with them in the future.
Ordered this morning at 1.30am, have acknowledge receipt of my 1st fund transfer but yet to place order with dangdang. Let's see how long they take.

 i wana buy direct too...but i got issues navigating the website~~ hubby is most unwilling to help as he thinks im spending too much on books recently. and he commented that the words on the website make him feel like he is reading 'fan ti zhi' and not the simple chinese words... meaning to say that he is having headache reading those words on PC... :stupid:deardear07:
i wana join dangdang spree if therez any... can count me in for next round?
Hi deardear07,
Not sure if there are any spree going on but you can purchase directly from them since they ship worldwide.
The shipping rate is standard 50% of list price. While the books are really cheap, be prepared for long shipping time of 6-8weeks.
So far Citibank, Amex and OCBC cards seems to work fine with them. Happy shopping!
the above mentioned cards need to activate anything? I have bought from overseas websites but never a chinese site... so don't know if any other requirement is needed...
please advise...thanks alot

Just want to check, when you want to check out the books, after keying in your particular, you need to key in something to verify the order right? I was stuck there. The website prompted me one question after another. I think I have keyed in so many answers, but the order still didn't go through. What should I do? :?:

please advise...thanks alot :D[/quote]If you have brought from overseas before, it should be quite easy. If you have AMEX, the buying process it much easier. Else for other cards like Citibank and OCBC, there is an additional security feature like a OTP password. It's quite simple really, but the agony is in the wait. So I am trying the 65daigou to see if it cuts down the shipping and if the shipping charges are reasonable
