My first post though I have been following this forum closely.
I'm having a big headache now. Am living within 1km of Red Swastika and is an old girl of Ai Tong. At fist, we thought our choice is easy, that's to move to Sin Ming and enroll in Ai Tong. But we have been viewing flats in Sin Ming and don't like the area. Now we are looking at flats in Bishan but they are damn expensive! I have been playing with the idea of staying in Bedok and try for Red Swastika. But it doesn't help when I learn of the reduced place there.
What would you guys do if you are me?!
She's looking around to get a place near Ai Tong now as she has younger children who would be going to the same school in future.
Like what Aquarmarine said, don't waste your phase 2A chance cos it's really a big hassle enrolling in other phases at other schools, esp popular ones like Red Swastika.

It seems that this school is getting to be very popular.
One of the main reasons for choosing this school is that my kid can walk to school by the park connector. -

I'll be out of the country on work on that day! I'll probably get my dh to take the kids there to just see the place. But do you think the open house will take place? Beacon has suspended its morning reading programme due to the H1N1 and this may also become a casualty of the same.
So you are very close to the place! We live in Lompang road in Block 175.
I also got my letter from the school about my 40 hours so I am guessing (and hoping) my admission in 2B is a done deal!hotfudgesoda:

I guess I would have to view more flats in Bishan. Not looking at AMK because we want to be as close to Ai Tong as possible. AMK don’t have any direct bus to Ai Tong. Am thinking of my son when he took up CCA later. That’s the reason why we are looking for an unit in Sin Ming but Sin Ming flats really cannot make it! -
According to my friend, all HDB within 1km of AiTong are no good, hence she is looking at condos instead.

Not only the HDB, condos also no good! But I dunno about the freehold ones cos no $ to buy thus not looking at that. -
why HDB at SIn ming no good? is it because of the ulu-ness??cos it’s ery quiet and peaceful. very nice for studying.

Not quite sure, my friend was saying they are all near the funeral parlours or something like that... :? -
no lah…certain flats only…44x series are quite good…those 40x series are near parlour. sin ming flats are not cheap, and there is an upcoming mrt station, so quite exp there.
the environment there is very good, but can be inconvenience cos no market. however, it also means thatplc is quiet. with condos beside flat, it really is a good place for studying.
anyway, tot govt said the plan for making sin ming a parlour hub is stalled?? -
Ya I do agree that those schools near funeral parlour, temple or cremataroum may not be so good. Heard every day have 3 burning session so bound to meet 1 of them
