yup happy mama, sama sama, I also face this prob everyday! After homework, it's either too late to do revision or she will b daydreaming n reluctant to do anything more. But as exams appoaching, she is startg to get more motivated. Last nite b4 going to bed, she requested to do a chin paper πŸ™‚

      Wow, so good!

Mine, I made her do a Maths paper after her homework last night. After doing halfway, she told me, \"Mum, I'm tired. Can I go and sleep? I promise I will do 2 papers or more tomorrow to make up.\".... I asked her \"Are you sure you have the time? What if you have 4 or 5 homework to do again?\".... Her reply \"Don't know\".

Haiz, our revision time is now at the mercy of their school homework.

My \"last words\" before I sent her off every morning. Complete as much work as possible in school so you'll bring back less. Haha... πŸ˜„ πŸ˜„

Whenever she felt a little overstretched doing her work, she'll ask for a 5 mins break. During that miserably short break, she'll dive into her storybook...

Yup, mine asked for short 5 minutes break as well, just to read her storybook. πŸ˜‰
If there are mistakes, his teacher will know and correct him.

My views too... Yes, she's ok in terms of homework.. the only thing that irritates me is her inability to be driven to study and do revision.

One mummy ever mentioned it's ok to let the child fail for him/her to wake up, but I don't know if I can afford to do that. But on the other hand, I don't want to get burnt out over CA1 when 1 month later I have to plan revision for SA1. 😒 really contradicting myself.
ya Janet, I agree. Don't get burnt out for CA1. Think of SA1, SA2 n we help to pace our kids. Especially now that we hv to coach 2 at d same time, can be quite siong.

  So cute... but do they have time to complete in class? If they have time to do means there's free period, which is no good, coz the teacher should be teaching them as much as possible to complete the syllabus... unless, PE teacher or ME, SS teacher is absent.

But they get to do homework when her classmates are still working on the mock papers. Actually, no more mock papers so it's likely that she'll have to bring back the work...

See...she knows. My dd requested for work after dinner too. For her, not only academic work, but also practicing her \"work\" for piano exams.

yup, so I'm happy. N she seems happy.
I guess she is startg to wonder why dis exam we hv not revised much. Last year during SA2, she was wondering why 1 week before exams she felt so free N relaxed as all revision had bn more or less covered. However, for this exam, hardly d same. I tink really la, must let dem feel on their own d urgency. No point nagging πŸ™‚ I told her on Monday that I will only tell her to do something twice n after that if she doesn't budge, I will not repeat. As I think wen i repeat or nag too much, watever I say becomes noise to dem. I'll see how dis strategy goes.

Yes, I agree. Nagging produces negative reactions, thus gives a viscious cycle. Encouraging produces positive reactions, thus gives a virtuous cycle...provided our kids don't take our niceness for granted and start to slack...Balance. Extremely important near exam time. I am swallowing my frustrated feelings (vent out at KS forum...haha  ) in front of her and not to let her feel it so she can concentrate and focus better.
