      Herbie:
It is not possible to coach GEP kids unless you already have another GEP kid at home and you know what to expect in the GEP curriculum... so basically the GEP kids learn from their teachers in school..

GEP journey is enriching for the kids and I can see that my kid at home is really enjoying the GEP journey... although it is challenging at time... with the different projects and datelines...
I like GEP class, but my DD seems not kind of GEP student...just imagine my dreaming life

curious ... why would parents want to send kids to NUSH ?

you mean .... want to groom them to be engineers so young ? they can't possibly become medical doctors, because Biology not taught at NUSH ?

if go NUSH, i suppose kids lose out also on language part ... since it's unlikely that they become lawyers, journalists ?

if they go normal Secondary school instead of NUSH, kids can still turn out to be engineers when grow up .... so what's the lure / attraction of channelling to NUSH ... at such young age ?
Based on their curriculum they cover almost the same subjects available in A level.

I guess the lure would be the direct 6 year IP to NUS High School Diploma (no O level) programme and is affiliated to and accredited by http://www.highsch.nus.edu.sg/images/index_05.jpg\">

Advantage of GEP? For me, PSLE and DSA aren't the attractions of GEP. It's about harnassing a child's abilities and encouraging him to reach his fullest potential. It's the long term benefits rather than the short term goal of DSA.
          that is very true

            hi,

i am looking for rgps Pri 1 both english and chinese worksheets -for vocab, grammar, composition, etc.

            my daughter entering rgps soon.

if there is any rgps parent who wish to do house clearing and say, do not need these rgps worksheets anymore, or your kids already finished / completed psle no need these lower primary rgps worksheet anymore - would appreciate if you can pass down to me. I want them!

if not, may i borrow Pri 1 worksheets, zap from you first, then quickly return everything back to you fast ?

Appreicate very much! Thanks a million !

So much discussion on GEP here. But only top 1% of the whole SG P3 can go.

It is not all game over if can't get into GEP. In RGPS, students with better P3 results will be streamed to 4E/F class. I understand from other parents that the school also drill these 2 classes and majority of them go to RGS after PSLE.
The E and F classes do very well at PSLE and a lot of them do end up at some of the top secondary schools.

Don't worry, kids learn swimming very fast, 1 0r 2 month's learning, they can swim quite good.
My dd had been 'learning' swimming during her PE lessons in P1 and P2. Until now still cannot swim..
