Have not done so for a while, so itching to boil soup again! Used to boil soup up to 3 times weekly before family all complained couldn't finish and kept having leftovers (and I was tired of using leftovers for lunch too). Maybe should try to do it once or twice weekly and see how it goes.

i also have leftover for soup, becos i usualy boil a big pot
i use it to cook porridge lorr for lunch šŸ˜„

so instead of water, you put rice in the soup and then boil like normal porridge is it? wow, must be very delicious!

              Happy Mama:
you mean use pig stomach soup to boil porridge i.e. instead of putting water in the rice, put the soup?

              teh_oh:
you substitute water with soup to boil with raw grains?
that's right,...use the soup as base, instead of water,
if the kids can't take or dislike pepper,
i dun put in too much pepper when boiling the soup.

Oh, my DH's favourite too! Where to buy the stomach? Market also?

No...i seldom go to wet market,
bot it from sheng siong, giant and ntuc supermarket.
it's better to get from sheng siong becos the pig stomach is \"thicker\", å£ę„Ÿ is better.

Ok thanks. Didn't know they sell stomach in supermarkets... Have never seen before leh.. but is it difficult to wash and cut the stomach? I remember my mum said you have to wash the stomach properly and I recall my neighbour washing it with newspaper (when i was a kid)... Strange to use newspaper, but they say it cleans the stomach very thoroughly. šŸ˜‰[/quote]You can buy the already clean ones. I understand the cleaning process can be quite tedious and \"smelly' too.

You can put the whole stomach in to boil. Then take out to cut when already cooked. If you do not want to have all in one go, cut in half then. Easier to cut into smaller pieces when already cooked than to cut raw.

yes, they sell pig stomach in supermarket, maybe not eveyday,
but most of the time, i am able to get it , esp at sheng siong and giant.

                    oh....no need so kankor,
the pig stomach is already pre-washed,
i wash it by rubbing some salt on it,
then, followed by blanching it boiling water, whole or cut into slices,
so as to remove any odour.
