Attitude and Behavior
-
This may be corny to some,
Sow A thought, reap an act.
Sow an act, reap a habit.
Sow a habit, reap a character.
Sow a character, reap a destiny.
So it all starts with THOUGHT. -
Absolutely! Which is why Character can be moulded/educated. We just need to redirect that thought.
The easiest to change is Behaviour - carrot and stick, but if the Attitude can be dealt with first, the Behaviour will follow.
Most times, we are only concerned with Behaviour, because it’s the most obvious. It takes more to deal with Attitude. -
MMM:
Most old old folks have the non-calculative attitude, I think because they have gone thru a lot, seen a lot in life, that's why they always smile. And life is happier that way. My old grandmother used to say, ... 做人要 harm harm 。(meaning not to be calculative)Besides those mentioned, I feel that being non-calculative is a important attitude in life.
Eg. If someone is calculative, he will feel cheated by people around him/boss/ company most of the time as he expects to be given a reward/ be treated in certain manner,etc... He will hence display a negative attitude towards things around him should things not go in his way and become bitter. This in turn will affect of people's impression of this person. -

NobleNerd I like all your post. :celebrate:
Full of wisdom and practicality. :rahrah: -
Thanks, Tisha.
ApronMama, actually, I suppose for old folks, it's because they've already gone through the usual cycle of life and their wisdom is from experience.
That's why I like being around old folks: physically, most of them are long-sighted, but no one can beat their hind-sightedness.

Learning basic mannerism , learning how to show respect to elders and peers ......... something that is missing in our young of today .....
such traits are missing in many parents, not just the young.
