Flower Power:
I doubt PA can do anything on this. They will say you will still have several of schools in the GRC for you to choose from
Damn, guess my choice of schools are also affected. I just hope that PA would be fair to the GRLs who are already serving the GRC since two years ago. -
blurblur:
Those going for 2011 P1 registration will be affected with the new boundaries
Hihi, does it mean that these new boundaries already apply to 2011 P1 registration for 2012 intake?
Pardon my ignorance but I've just encountered an unexpected change in GRC and have a boy to register in July so I'm at a loss! -

You can compare it using your street directory. Else can just wait for the details to be published. I bet Straits Times will illustrate out the new maps in the next 1-2 weeks. Previously they publish the map for each existing GRCs/SMCsFor eg: TP03 in Moulmein-Kallang GRC means? I know it's in Toa Payoh, but does anyone knows exactly which areas or blocks of flats & schools fall in that area etc?

Good news if staying within the new GRC/SMC of your preferred sch... cos' all the GRLs would have been forefeited, if really the case..... :celebrate:

With all these changes, likely P2B application ratio for the popular schools will drop this year and next year. Existing GRLs are not eligible anymore and those staying in the new GRC/SMC don't have the time to join as GRL
The ratio will probably go up again in 2 years time
every election will cause a reset on application rate on this path -
daddy2007:
It will be interesting to see this year's P2B results. The lucky ones would be the rest of the groups in the P2B like PV and clan/church members. They could jolly well face lesser competition since the GRL group may be affected to a certain extent. P2C would be super duper competitive since all the \" newly disqualified\" GRL would all go into this phase to \"fight it out\". Whahahaha.......Daddy

From the decreased numbers, we can gauge how \"popular\" is this GRL route or how many GRLs applying via P2B

Now without this GRL route, the competition of joining PV will be increased.Flower Power:
Doubt those GRL will join in P2C. The reason of them going via GRL route is likely they live more than 1-2km of their choice school. If they compete in P2C, likely they will lose out. If based on history, there is no balloting for P2C, then they would even join as GRL in the first placeP2C would be super duper competitive since all the \" newly disqualified\" GRL would all go into this phase to \"fight it out\". Itβs pretty sad for those affected, so nothing to cheers about. Afterall, is one affort being PV or thru GRL.
Is quite unfair as is just 4 months to applied for P1, hopefully PA can do something on this issue. -

Hmm... actually me being one of those unlucky GRL, do stay within 1km of the school. So people like me may still give it a shot. -

Not sure if PA will make exception for this year registration and also for next year since one need to serve 1 yrs as EM before qualifying for P2B. As those going for next yr P1 registration will probably play some parts (be it as observer or newly mint EM) in their RC already
Hopefully those obersers or EMs will not suddenly disappear since this great benefit is now gone
