How much homework do you get for your kids each day?

I dun know why I have the feeling that the homework is not sufficient :? relative to other pri sch.

I find it sufficient la..my son has homework everyday. If he has too much homework..he will not have time to do his assessment book which I find it's important.
My friend was complaining his son has not homework and test..he's from another primary school.

So far has daily homework unless the teacher on MC / course or that week is exam week.


But compared to last year, this year seems lesser volume of homework.

Ur kid is P1 or P2?

About those bite sized assessment, overall compare to last year, less stressful but spread to 2 months, so that pressure still there. Seems like every mth also have test.. :nailbite:

My kid is in P1.
I have no benchmark with the previous method of testing but I do see some benefits of these "bite-size" assessment. It does bring about some consistency in learning spread throughout a longer period instead of cramming a test in one week. I noticed they do get some revision work before the actual test which is good too. The time table given (in the purple file) is also good for parents like us to track what will be coming in the weeks ahead.

Maybe it is just P1 term 2 so I still do not feel the stress as a parent yet since many of the topics are still pretty fundamental (but important). Let’s see how that goes into term 3 onwards.

Hi,

I never attended before PTM as not required to do so. Usually the Form Teacher will inform the parent whether neceesary to meet up or not. As for my case, since P1, I will liaise with the respective Teachers either via SMS or email when I have any doubt or enquiry. So, they said no need meet me..haha...paiseh :oops:

Oh, so it depends if the teacher wants to meet the parents. I thought it is a compulsory thing and we are not able to make it on the PTM day. Anyway, I have written emails to the form teacher couple of times and I must say she is pretty responsive.

Now that the June holiday is around the corner, I am struggling to think of activities to fill in the entire month. Any suggestions?
