      H2O:
I thought Optician can't prescribed for children under 7. They have to use the prescription from the refraction clinics.

one of the advice that the Ophthalmologist given to me is that after wearing glasses for a while, my girl Astigmatism may corrected but chances she will have short sighted then.
You are right. Optician are not supposed to prescribed spectacles for children below 7 years old. They will need to have the letter from the refraction clinics. For my case, I just bring my daughter to test her eye sight using the machine. As I had mentioned earlier, I did not go any further.

        Hi
Recently, I just bring my boy to the polyclinic for check and confirm that he short sighted and required to wear glasses even tot the degree is abt 100+. Thinking of going for 2nd opinion. Anyone has any recommendation which specialise is go.

I also hear that there is eye therapy which will help to reduce the degree further . How true is it? Anyone has experience before.

Bringing my son to the refraction clinic tomorrow. Most likely he will need glasses as I "tested" him by asking him to read words from a distance. Any recommendations from optical shop that provide good range of glasses and services for kids? Thanks.

Are you going to a private refraction clinic? You can check with the clinic if they have some recommended optical shops.

I got some names from the the clinic and I went to Capitol Optical eventually.

Going to the Health Promotion Board (I think) refraction clinic for students (the one that is referred from school). Anyone been there? Was it able to recommend optical shops? Thanks.

after my girl checkup @ HPB, they actually refer my girl to KKH. I recalled they gave me 3 choices : KKH, NUH and ??

The result from HPB is almost the same as KKH.
Mabe you can get refer letter from HPB.

                      Hi

My gal just went to HPB last month and she has to be on glasses. Her reading is 250 per eye. You will be given a reading by the optometrist in HPB and you just need to bring the reading to any optical shop, no need to have eye tested again.

We went to Optical 88 and made a pair of glasses for $120. Later, when we shop around, we realise Spectacle Hut selling cheaper and nicer children's frames. You may want to go have a look.

I also bought a Eye Relax machine for her, hopefully can reduce her power......it's quite expensive, around $624 if you are a Popular Member.......

                        Hi,

Just came back from the HPB refraction clinic this afternoon. Right eye 100 degree; left eye ok. Does anyone know whether is 100 degree considered serious or just slightly myopic?

Hi dilemma, what's an Eye Relax machine? How does it work? Has it been effective so far? Thanks.
