        tisha:
Need a clarification regarding PSLE marking:

For the Editing(spelling and grammar) part of Paper 2, is it acceptable to use the American spelling like analyze, organize instead of the UK spelling as in analyse, organise etc?

For the school worksheet DS's teacher has marked wrong for the usage of american spelling.
We are following the British spelling system but you may choose to use American spelling in major examinations (PSLE, O levels, A levels). The point is that you can only choose one. If you use American spelling, everything should be spelled the american way. i.e. color.

Chances are, DS's teacher marked wrong for the usage of american spelling because DS has already used numerous British Spelling.

Thanks for the pointers, will keep in mind and also advise DS.

                Hi Tianzhu,

Tks for ur reply. It is indeed v useful.

                Rule 5.\t
When a singular and plural subject are connected by either/or or neither/nor, put the plural subject last and use a plural verb.
Example:\tNeither Jenny nor the others are available.

Sometimes, the qn has singular subject last so we must use singular verb? So it means that the verb must follow the last subject, rite?

                Tks

                        hi wkong 😃

guess your child is in the upper primary? for my child, i made him practise over many questions. basically for primary levels the questions are rather similar or i would say repetitive. for eg. they usually ask for xxx prefers… to… Both xxx and xxx are…
I bought the new assessment books from Just Education Publishers for my nieces. Whole book on synthesis and transformation. heard from my sister that the questions are quite well-structured.
