My daughter was very conscious when she put on the lens. She don't even dare to touch her eyes once the lens are in. She even keep asking me to wash my hand with soup to times, rinse it clean before put on the lens for her. I requested for a trial but the boss told me to put a $500 deposit and told me that most of them don't go for trial because the lens he used are the actual lens and not trial lens. So in the end i didn't go for trial.

Which shop did you go and asking for $500 trial? that's too expensive. Apparently it is not one of the center in my list.
The one that I am using offer the cheapest trial fee so far.

please share here, so all other parents will take precaution.

The way this lens work is by using the eye lid to flatten the surface of the cornea. My warning for parents who's kid is using this lens have to ensure the lens is cleaned properly. There are cases lke kid went partial blindness as baterial eats up the surface of the cornea. Make sure the optical shop do proper cleaning and protein removal when you send your lens for cleaning. For better hygenie, i would previously recommend my customer to clean the lens once a wekk. I gain my knowledge from this product is because i sold it and studied about the product before.

Close monitoring needed when using this lens. Kids with high astig are not recommended for this lens. It aids only people with myopia. Please not that not all people suit OK lens. Proper examination required before using. If experience discomfort it could be the contents of the solution. Some people do have allergy.

In the inital stage when you 1st wear the lens, the clear vision will not last you for 1 whole day. As you increase your frequency of wearing, the duration of clear vision will increase. So base on the shape of your cornea, the lens will be specially order to correct your vision to perfection. But this is not forever. When you stop using it, the degree will still comes back.

Dear parents please dun mistake me for selling lens here.. i'm juz sharing my knowledge about this lens.. In addition, i'm no longer in that trade.. Thank you.. :celebrate:

My son has been going to Stan iasaacs for ortho k for the past four years. Felt very comfortable because they are the pioneer for ortho k. Myself has been with them for the past 19 years. For trial, they are charging $160 but of course is deductible if you choose to go ahead. Fees for my son is $1800. Annual fee of $55 for unlimited checkups. Any replacement is about $300.

I’m quite willing to pay because they are very professional.

Was above price $19 years ago or recently cause when I check with them last year, they are not offering any trial and replacement cost are more than what you stated, leh.
maybe it is for new clients. It is good that they didn't inflate their price for the exiting client.

Hi, both my kids got their Orth-K lens from there as well in 2010. They went for the trial lens, charged as per Peggy's, deductible from package-price if you so decide to proceed with the customized lens.

The replacement len is $300 per LEN, if I am not wrong. So will be $600 for 1 pair.

Both my kids' lens cost $1600 per pair, 1's myopia is abt 300+, the other 100+. Not sure how the charges are determined. Maybe complexity? eg myopia plus astigmatism etc will cost more?

H, amylqf, is as per your recommendation i went to The point optical group. They told me the trial was $500 and i mentioned about what you said that the trial was $200 and they told me there is no more of $200 for the trial. Even for the replacement lens they are quoting me at $1.1 to $1.2k. :?

Just checked with the boss of Point Optical. Here is the reply:

\"Because we use the real lense (curve specially made for the child, not 1 size fit all type of common lense) for trial, if the customer don't want the lense in the end, we are going to loss money. To clarify, :

$200 Trial for 1 month (Issac: $160 common lense for 1 time only, no refund/exchange), is not refundable or exchange to other product.

$500 Trial for 1 month: is allow to change to other products.

In both senarios, if the parents decide to go ahead with the lenses, trial fee will be offset from the full lense price.

for the replacement lense, it is based on the complexity of each case, like power n brand of lense n other factors.\"

                  CHC123,

As my research had done early last year while I chose lense for my daughter, price might varies due to inflation, different company policy, different terms and condition, which are beyond control.

Parents, Above information is just for your reference. please do your own study and compare the supplier to decide which is best for your child.

I totally agree with you on the hygiene part. It is very critical and may not suitable for everyone.

My girl has been with Point Optical for more than a year and she need to change for new pair of lenses. I want to change to another provider. Does anyone here have good recommedation? I want to look for one with better follow up and cleaning services. Of course, I understand I might have to pay more.

Why do you want to change the provider? I am considering to get the otho-k lenses for my DD from this Point Optical.
