Yes it is still there as of yesterday.ks2me:
I got it from United Square where there was a mobile store setup and would last for 3 months, just started last weekend.
Duh...Jun hols passed like a flash...didn't manage to go down United Square. Since the kiosk supposed to last for 3 mths since May, hope it's still around. Hopefully can find some time to go take a look... -
Thanks ks2me. Seems you frequent United Square often? My place very far and we don't drive so have to really make an effort to go there.
BTW, my DD1 recently has an interest in hamster, just because her best friend is having one for a pet 2 weeks back. Donno which pet we'll ultimately decide on... :? -
Yes, I frequent the place, anything you want me to find out for you?
As for hamsters, I think they are cute and good for pets as long as your children spend enough time to look after them and maintain. I believe they are already considered quite low maintenance.
We chose hermit crabs for its very low maintenance and colourful disposition. -
Precisely because you mentioned abt the VERY low maintenance that I'm seriously considering it for my DD1's pet. But need to go see the real thing first because she saw her friend's hamster and found it to be VERY cute, running abt and playing in the cage.

Oh if your dd loves active pet, then sometimes the hermit crabs can be very lazy. They may not move the entire day except when they need food or water so it may bore her to watch them for action. In such situations, we have to lift it up to trigger action in them or put them on top of palm tree to watch it climb its way down. Sometimes, it is so lazy that it can park itself on top of the palm tree for HOURS! :!:
Then during moulting, they will be completely out of action. -
ks2me, we did keep blue legged hermit crab before. It was part of our reef aquarium. It eats debris from uneaten fish food that sunk at the bottom of the tank. What I notice is that it grows quite quickly that we need to find a new shell when it outgrows the current housing.

For ours, the diet is \"controlled\" by us as we are told to give a certain amount only, so they do not appear to grow quickly. Also, \"housing\" is not an issue for them as we have 4 extra houses for them to choose from due to owner's vanity. Honestly, the fun part is seeing them change shells. Sometimes after changing, they don't like it, they will change back. So we see the fastidious side of them. -
Finally got to go down to United Sq to see the crabs after my DD2’s doctor appt at KK. DD2 was very fascinated with the crabs, with all the colourful shells, hut and all. They’re really interesting to watch. Thought I’ll bring DD1 down to take a look/choose (it’s after all, HER pet) before deciding. The guy told me they’ll be there till end of this mth.
