I can't help you... My daughter is rather week in chinese and there are many words she cannot read. She uses a dictionary to look up those unfamiliar words. Problem is, during exams, she will feel handicapped coz dictionaries are not allowed.Hi All,
Anyone know any technique to tackle chinese comprehension, sometime my DS cannot find direct answer where can score 0 marks in the comprehension section! -
preggie:

DS class is focusing on oral for this week, is it the same for your gal, preggie? I wonder if this is counted in the assessment. Looks like my DS is going to do REALLY badly....
Any other class also focusing on oral this week? -
2C had their English Test today. What about others?
FINALLY, all completed...can breath a sigh of relief... :celebrate: -

I think it's the same for all P2s. My son said he saw 2A and 2C having their orals.
Yes, it will be counted as part of their assessment. -

Same here. :hi5: -

So they REALLY time them together. Looking back I wonder if this quarterly assessment is a good thing. Our poor kids get grilled 4 times a year...famangelina31:

I suppose it's a trade-off between more frequent assessment and marks skewed to the final year exam. All these assessments are required to keep the students constantly on their toes.
In addition, it is now no longer 100% written assessments that make up the marks. Orals, Show & Tell and Ting Xie, for instance, now form part and parcel of the total marks for Chinese. -

Guess so...more rounded approach - both verbal and written. Gosh! DS has been performing badly in Ting Xie...I guess it's going to be the same for him for Oral bcos he cant vocalise very well in MT.I suppose it's a trade-off between more frequent assessment and marks skewed to the final year exam. QMS,
My son said he didn’t have Ting Xie yesterday. Any idea when will that be?
