Hi… just joined as newbie and seeking high and low for SHHK member who can help to

to introduce me to the clan.
Would like to enroll my child to chongfu next year.
Any mom here who is a SHHK member……… Please help……I’m desperate!!

Based on what I had read so far, it appears that even for SHHK members, you need to be a member for x number of years before they will "give you the letter" to register. It is not guaranteed that if you are a member you can register. My cousin joined SHHK as he wanted to put his son in TNS, he joined for a year/ two at most. So he was SURPRISEED when he couldn’t use his SHHK membership for priority registration as there is a cap. So he resorted to using my mum’s address (less than 1km) BUT as she is not the grandma, this is not allowed by MOE.

If it is next year that you are registering, from a leadtime perspective, wondering if it is too short and hence is it worth paying the membership and going through the hassle? Other experienced parents might want to comment.

The cap appears to be dependent on the number of places available for the school, and the demand for them in Phase 2B. It is not just dependent on the length of time, but the level of contribution you made to the clan. So if you are active and involved at the clan, you should have a better chance. Knowing the inner sanctum of the management probably helps too.

Yes, perhaps some one else who has previously received the letter may care to give more info.

Last year, when they called me up (registration for Ai Tong). They told me to collect the letter from the school on the day of registration. I never received the letter by mail.

I had read through all the past posting and I understand that it is not a guaranteed even I am a SHHK member but I have no other choice... will grab any chance that comes along...so hurt. :stupid:

I am wondering why SHHK need 2 existing members to be sponsor, I think they just want to play \"hard to get’’… so sad...

When did you get the call from SHHK ? is it a few days before the start of phase 2B.

This year's Phase 2B will start on 20 Jul and results of Phase 2A2 will only be released on 16 Jul.

If SHHK will only release recommendation letters after Phase 2A2 to know the no. of vacancies available and how many letters to give out, basically , they only have 3 days to work on.

I can't recall the exact day I received the call (from the school actually, not the Clan), it was possibly 2 or 3 days before phase 2B registration.

Even though they go through this round of selection (based on availabilities), the letters they gave out to Clan members and PVs, still exceeded the number of phase 2B vacancies (this was last year's scenario). Plus there is still an unknown number of RC registrants...

However, (my personal opinion only), this year sees quite a big drop in the number of P1 registrants, but the number P1 places in SHHK managed schools did not seem to have been reduced, so, I think this year's parents would have a higher chance of securing places in phase 2B (at least for those staying 1-2 km from the school).
