LOL - yesterday, ds' school principal gave a talk and during that, he also explained \"why\" it is quite difficult to produce a top student(in whole singapore). haha! Says it's bc the T-score for CL is skewed now with the extremely high standard of the PRC students' CL!

That's why the top PSLE students are hardly ever local Chinese. The top student's mother tongue is either Malay, Indian or if Chinese, the student is PRC.

I thought the influx of foreigners had an impact on the work force only. Now sad to say that it has an impact on our school going children as well.


In my son’s school the TOP PSLE kid for last year was from India.

In my son's school the TOP PSLE kid for last year was from India.

And the principal wasn't talking about top in school. Surely every school will have top student regardless of what country they are from. Just that he says it's rather difficult for a local Chinese to be top (very rare). And ours is a SAP school, so generally most students are Chinese, majority local lah.
