Hi ksasalways, thanks for your advice. Tot of that too last year when he was still in P5, but his FT thinks it's too early to go for any open house. We're now waiting for the release of dates to open house so that he can get a 'feel' of the schools he's interested in. Even better if it can motivates him to work harder for his PSLE...
Sharing my personal experience here. Brought son last year (P5) to NUS High open house but instead of motivating him, he was just too excited to run around the campus as it's big compound to wonder around, in the end only me and hubby attended the talk by the Principal. This year son in P6, without me asking whether he still keen in this year's NUS High open house, he started asking me qns about the school instead and showing keen interest in getting in too. Guess the difference from P5 to P6 speaks that the kid himself seems to know the world of difference as PSLE is a big thing and at some point, planning / thinking through process of which school to go to is important. -
I think it’s important to visit Open Houses to let the kid see for himself what his future school will be like. Whether he’ll like the ambience, the culture, the environment… For parents, it’s an opportunity to find out more about the school, talk to the students, the teachers…
Remember that at Open Houses, the school is putting its best out for show. They’re doing this to impress prospective students and their parents. If you’re not impressed by what you see at the Open House, by the student leaders, by the staff, then you’re unlikely to be impressed by the school when school starts.
Also note that some of the schools tend to hold their Open Houses on the same day, so be prepared to rush from one school to another. -
Pri 5 is NOT too early to visit open houses of sec schools !
when I brought my DS at P5 to those open houses, lo and behold, so many of his friends are there too…and when we went again at P6, the principal of the sec school said…oh you again !! -
Can anyone advise me if the school’s open house will be held usually on weekdays or weekends? Thanks.

All the best with your DSA for SOTA & RVH. Mind if I ask which domain are you applying under? Dance, music or arts? :celebrate: -
Hi Tinkerbelle. My daughter will be applying under Dance.

Hi,
I have a friend who had applied for SOTA but his father wanted him to go NUSHS as he is very good in math and science. But the problem is he is really interested in piano and violin as he plays them very well. Any advice on what school should he apply for?? -
Gee, gald to hear people chosing 1st choice for Crescent Girls'!
But...hearing my friends say that (NO OFFENCE!!! @_@) the students were bad and _____(i don't dare to say the word--\"Liu Mang\"), i was so disheartened
Can anyone turn me over ? I think i was influenced by them....
