today, while waiting for my kid, i saw a parent taking lunch for her gal. The guard refused to let her to go into the school compound until 2 pm. (for some security reason).

can i ask those parents with kids having cca in school, do you "dabao" lunch for your kids or do they buy from the canteen?

Honestly I can't remember, but after age of 3 or thereabouts, I can't recall any more vaccinations that need be done. Mine got his doses recently with the rest of the P1s. And I don't think we need to pay - don't recall any forms that require us to do so. Believe that's the 'advantage' of having it done in school vs going to our own doctor.

And I recall also that our kids have to be in school uniform...kids don't come in party best. 😉 A bit curious why the child will join the PTM, I thought parents/teachers can be more open if the child is not there?

                    Hi,

Know I'm a bit kancheong with this question. Just to check, did the school communicate about the changes to the new MTL testing and teaching? How the parents are able to help the kids? Thanks
                    hi sahm_tan,

Not sure how to answer your question, but the school did provide us with a list of what's going to be assessed under the holistic assessment and it seemed fairly clear.

On the operational level for MTL, so far DS1 has had to read out pages from the textbook to us; he brings back one chinese storybook each week. Recently, there is a show and tell (5 sentences) about either a toy or a photo. This show & tell forms part of the assessment. Finally, the usual spelling and stuff (btw, if it wasn't mentioned, P1 spelling thus far is ALL in hypy).

DS1 also brings home weekly a chinese magazine (新朋友) - his is for P1 & P2. His teacher usually gets them to do the P1 questions in class also, but I don't think it's marked.

So they would know what we are discussing about them. What the teacher and we parents hoping or expect them to do. Rather than go home then start our nagging....... scolding....... preaching.....
