      Hi,

I agreed with ctct61t as my girl is pretty good to give excuses or reason to escape from any issue and previous school teachers cant do anything with her but in RGPS haha her teachers know how to handle her.. make me so happy....

Thanx. Its assuring to hear it's a good school.

Btw, how did RGPS fair in PSLE last year. Know they have GEP, but how the main stream doing? Do they offer higher chinese in P1 level?

My gal is stronger in language. esp chinese.

Hope u can shed some light.

My DD is also strong in MT, and she is offered HMT from this year (additional 1 hour HMT class weekly). 90% of her classmates were offered HMT.

I'm not sure how fair RGPS is in PSLE last year. I know RGPS is not like other school, seperate students into top and normal class when they are in P3. They give all students more chances to develop equally. My DD said classes here are interesting, she likes to learn things in a fun and creative way. That's what I want, is to let my DD learn happily.

Another impression to me is that most of teachers here are experienced and stricted. I like the way they manage students.

from past statistics, there is a trend / pattern revealed.

one third to two third of rgps students normally end up in RGS secondary eventually.

only a handful rgps girls will go NYGH.

i also heard that many who do not go RGS/ NYGH Secondary - will choose Crescent girls’ Secondary, with minority going St Margaret Secondary.

last year at a conference, i happen to overhear a teacher teaching GEP students at RGPS that Crescent girls’ Secondary is also a very good school. But she did not elaborate why it’s good. curious … anyone know ?

            Hi greenbean2011,

Actually, we have not been confirm a place in RGPS.
We just been called for PV interview for 2013 enrollment.

So now trying to do more ground work to know the school and also to find out any tips to get selected in the interview. Not sure what kind of service they need for the school? :?

This is the first time we \"participate\"in this \"NATIONAL Primary School Registration Excerise\" so very blur here.

We stay quite far from RGPS so if don't do PV then sure no chance to get in. Also concern on logistic cos we are both working so if relocate very far then we will have a problem to bring her there.

Ya, we are secretly very proud of our gal Chinese. Somehow our hours of story telling and learning together paid off and she is quite a independent reader now for Chinese story books. Can see that she is very interested in Chinese Language thus thinking if possible we should start her in school that provide higher chinese so that her interest can grow from there.

                Hi Bowen

if you are staying quite far way form rgps then you may wish to reconsider yr decide… cos yr kid will have to wake up early to take the school bus when she is in the morning session…

Currently, some parents already complain abt the pick up time for school bus which can be as early as 6am…

You may not face this problem when she is in P1 but the problem will surface when she is in P3…

No lah, only about a quarter go to RGS, not 1/3-2/3.

A quarter, is this figue include GEP classes? I think 3 GEP classes are almost occupied a quater already.

actually, one quarter rgps girls entering RGS Secondary is … not a lot.

i would have expected at least … half of rgps girls to enter RGS.

anyway, that means … the remaining three quarters of RGS Secondary girls will come from … top, or at least near top girls from all primary schools all over the entire SG nation, scoring minimum around 262.

really, it’s like … cream of the cream end up in RGS Secondary, to compete at O level, at A level !
