Iโ€™m glad you are making your kids interested in baking!

Many parents say itโ€™s too much of a hassle to prepare and let their kids bake. And my close friends have asked me to start a baking class for kiddos at my house since I teach cooking everyday.

Itโ€™s good to see other mummies spending quality time with their kiddos through cooking!

My boy is 2.5yo now and he loves to help mix the batter, watch the oven and wash up!

My Grandmother bought a cook book for kids that my daughter fell in love with. William Sonoma I think. And later she graduated to adult cook books and using the Internet to find recipes (she found Potato Chocolate Cake she baked for part of a presentation on Ireland. Cake to my surprise was very good).

Microwaves are amazing what they can do, especially with the convection feature so you get some browning. The browning is the major issue with a microwave that the convection solves. I took a class with my Mother on how to use a Microwave for cooking when I was in High School.

            mrswongtuition,

My kids are always very excited whenever they bake cupcakes, especially when they see the cupcakes rising in the oven, and they smell wonderful ! They say that the cupcakes they bake for themselves are the best !

All the hassle is worth it !

            childbook,
I also bought a book with photos of lovely cakes, and my kids love this book ๐Ÿ˜‰

For young kids, you can try recipes that use the all-in-one method. Another fun method they will love is rubbing-in method, but it's rather messy ๐Ÿ™‚

Fold in the flour just means pour the flour into the mixture and mix together. You pour in half the flour first, mix, then add milk and vanilla, and mix.

Then add in the rest of the flour and mix.

Tamarind, actually folding flour and mixing flour is very different. But for kids, as long as they can mix it well, itโ€™s an achievement!
