For me, what is important is not the top top students as these are often far and few in between but how the overall cohort performed that shows whether the school has done well for the students. So I am happy to see "9 in 10 students scored A/B in 20 H1 and H2 subjects".

Congratulations to HCI students and teachers!
Ace is only fm T1 to T3 n u can chk e pts awarded thru e parents portal for e individual subject. The progress report will oso reflect e ttl ace pts per term fm T1to T3. There is no ace in T4, student will not loose out if they do not take part in ext comp as T1 to T3 ace already make up to a total of 50% (e max for ace). Hope this helps.

              Thank you once again, pinky88.

hi pinky88, I am quite confused with what they mean by 50%, Is 50% refer to achieving 50% of ACE or it refers to full mark of all ACE which is only a weightage of 50% of the entire independent studies(ACE+Proj)
Hi ApronMama, 50% refers to full mk of all Ace. The full mks for Ace fm T1 to T3 is 50 ie. T1 - 10 pts, T2 & T3 20 pts ea. This makes up 50% of the Independent Studies (IS) and Project Work (PW) makes up the other 50%. For PW, the max pts r - prelim : 5 pts, Semi finals : 30 pts & Finals : 15 pts. In order to achieve more pts for PW, the project gp needs to pass every round up to the finals & even better grand finals. Hope this clears up your confusion.

Am still unsure about when compeition result such SMO, AMC,... should come in to help ACE. Is it only for term 4, Do they have to choose the sbuject so that the relevant competition could be considered in term 4 ?

I think the programmes which the school arrange are also important such as BSC, oversea exchange in various country, local school, and sec 3 boarding school, local/oversea outward bound all will be great experience to HCI students.

My son is in Sec 3 only, but I'm unclear as to what are H1 and H2 subjects. Could someone help clarify?

Does anyone know whether there is any school bus services from Yishun to HCI. If so, I would be grateful if you can forward the bus driver’s contact detail to me.
