bluemoon:
Well, I'm not sure about band, but ds in CO said he gets to \"touch\" his instrument and practice with it in the morning.
*faint*catmum:
Yes, Band has morning practises and I think they report at 6.50am, according to a mommy that I know.
Thanks, but I really wonder the effectiveness of early morning practises.
The mommy with ds in band said the teacher told the boys that they are likely to be playing live for morning flag raising ceremonies sometime later!!! :!: Good luck! -

Some kids don't practise at all at home, so how to improve, right? So I think the morning practices is to make sure the boys DO practise.

Just in case some parents need to know… it takes only about 15min to reach school from Bt Merah using lornie rd, but school bus will take about 45min (formerly 1 hr) to bring him home.
Something to ask other parents. Have any of you found any suitable maths assessments that match the school’s Accelerated Thinking Maths? Popular bookshop’s assessments are not as advanced. The boys are taught something close to equations now, but using symbols. -
You can try buying the Books by OnSponge for P5 and P6, available at CH bookstore. They have from P1 to P4 too.
There is another book (brown colour, cannot remember name) available at Popular bookstores by the same author (Ammiel Wan, former CH Dean of Curriculum and current VP of Rosyth).
These 3 books all having challenging questions and advanced concepts, but it has to be build on books with basic concepts which Popular bookstores have. -
Thanks alot, I’ll try looking for them.

Hi,
Hope to have advice please. My son is going to P1 next year & hubby is old boy of CH.
We are living in Eunos which is pretty far from CH. May I know is there anyone staying in East side & whose son is studying in CH? If yes, appreciate if you can share the pick up & drop off times by school bus? Are your boys very tired from the journey.
Greatly appreciate your views/advice. -

Driving:
There are 2 options for me,
1) ECP - KPE - PIE - Braddell ~20mins no traffic lights till braddell
2) Bedok Reservior - Tampines Via Duct Braddell less than 20mins depend on traffic lights.
I prefer cruising, so I take the ECP route, few minutes more.
school Bus: Pick up at 6:00am if not wrong, quoted $180 one way.
My advice, look for classmates around your area to car pool/taxi pool.
From Eunos, by car est 15mins
CHS students are scattered around Singapore....
